Can't wait to take my shoes of and putting my feet in the white sand on a nice beach in Vietnam, will feel like the first time in spring when you walk barefoot on the grass. ... read more

Up until fairly recently, I thought I was pretty much the only one who suffered from what we in plain Swedish call "resfeber" or, literally translated, "travel fever". When you're just sitting at home, flipping through books and magazines, travelling sounds like the most wonderful thing in the world. So you book your trip, you start planning, looking forward to it. Then it hits you. You're really going. It could be wonderful, but oh dear God are there a billion things that could go wrong... And the worrying, nervousness and anxiety begins. Just recently I read an opinion piece in a Swedish travel magazine about this very phenomenon, and it made me realise this does, in fact, happen to other people - even to seasoned travellers. The piece suggested the reasons for feeling like this could ... read more

I've tried my hand at the whole blog thing before, with rather depressing results. It's surprising how difficult it is to write something that is worth reading, and not just some self-centred piece of garbage, when one is writing about oneself. Fiction, I am good at, but when it comes to depictions of real events, I still have a long way to go. In two weeks, however, I leave for England, to start my second year of studying international relations and politics at the University of Sheffield. I've been wanting to keep some sort of journal about my stay there, to remember it by (let's face it, we all get older and I think my memory is already starting to suffer at 21! then again, it's been crap for most of my life...). Anyway, so here ... read more
