Went to Dublin with my mate Vicki at the beginning of November (life has been a bit mad so have not been able to keep you updated). Had a fab time and walked our legs off. Weather was fine and crisp but didn't get too cold as had thick jumpers, coats and a number of lovely hot chocolates to keep us warm. Went to Temple Bar area for food and drinks, Hard Rock Cafe where I picked up my regular 'shot glass'. Jamison Whiskey Distillery and the Guinness factory were also on the agenda. Stayed in a nice little bed and breakfast off O'Connell Street and strolled down everyday passed the 'spire'. Previously stayed in the Youth Hotel which was a bit further up the road. Had a fab time and look forward to going again ... read more

Well it has been a huge moWell it has been a huge month, probably why the editions have been a little few and far between. It all began with the beautiful Kevie coming for the last of his visits and in true Aussie form we were off to the rugby Australia V Ireland - Not wanting to reflect on the past, I will not mention the score…A wonderful night followed with Karaoke being the theme nights for the two of us. Pete Murray concert was next on the cards with the girls from work, he was good and the venue nice and intimate. Then off to Karaoke….. Kev returns again, yes another section of Karaoke after a few pints at the Celt, and as quickly as he arrives back he is gone with many tears to ... read more

We’d been banging on about going up to Dublin to visit our mate Trev for at least a year and thanks to Ryan Air’s 0.01p flights we finally got our butts into gear and booked. Getting there was easy, getting from the airport into town was easy - thanks to the super friendly bus drivers and automated voice over on the bus that tells you exactly where you are at each stop. Finding Trev, however, was a little more difficult. The poor guy waited out in the sleet for us for a good hour or so but we made up for it by piling into the nearest pub for our first Irish Guinness. We didn’t waste any time. We dumped our gear back at his place, grabbed a bite to eat and headed out into town ... read more

J'ai donc encore le ... read more

Dear friends and family - I have decided to move to Dublin, Ireland. You are welcome to visit any time of the year. Love, Theresa P.S. I think I have an unhealthy obsession with Ireland at this point. I write to you from the airport since I am so early that I am not even able to check in just yet. I guess I have to leave in a few hours for London...which makes me sad haha. I'm sure I will fall in love with London just the same. But we'll see about that! A little about my weekend in Dublin... Arrived before lunch Saturday morning and took a bus to catch the DART train system to Dun Laoghaire (pronounced Done Leary) to find my hostel. After having lugged my luggage up the stairs and being ... read more

Travelled to Dublin while I was in Belfast. Caught the train at 7.00 in the morning it was freezing, 3 degrees! But by the time I got to Dublin was heaps warmer 7. But it wasn't raining and the sun was actually visible so I spent the day wandering around the city trying to see as much as I could. I went to Trinity College cos I have always wanted to see hte book of Kells and lucky Me on the day I went to view it they were renovating the exhibition so I only got to see colour copies of the book. Was a bit dissapointing but never mind. Saw the Trinity college library, it was incredible the most amazing library I have seen huge arched book cases lined each wal from the very top ... read more

This is, sadly, our last day here in Ireland. Yesterday we left Kilkenny very early in the morning to catch a bus back to Dublin. Kevin and Maggie departed onto another bus once we arrived, to take their plane back to the States. Amber and I were left to enjoy some late breakfast before pulling our luggage through the busy streets and sidewalks to find our hotel for the last two nights. The streets here are like what (I can only imagine) New York's are like: incredibly busy with many people dressed up rather businesslike, with herds of people crossing at every intersection. Well, there are some differences, like the fact that everyone here is very friendly, and even vehicles will stop well short of the line to let you know that you in fact have ... read more
