Ya teníamos nuestras tarjetas de embarque a San José así que nos dirigimosdirectamente a la seguridad y la dirección de RSU puertas de la Terminal 4 delaeropuerto de Madrid Barajas. Tuvimos que tomar un tren y se sorprendieron con la distancia que necesitamos para viajar, por lo que una palabra de consejo"tiempo suficiente". Escaleras mecánicas y pasillos con el tiempo nos ha traído a nuestra puerta y haber R16 comprobar los DETALLES DE vuelo lo que podríaestablecerse para el desayuno.

We already had our boarding cards to San Jose so we headed straight to security and direction RSU gates Terminal 4 Madrid Barajas airport. We had to take a train and were surprised with the distance we need to travel, so a word of advice "allow plenty of time". Moving stairs and walkways eventually brought us to our gate R16 and having check the flight departure detais we could settle down for some breakfast.

Abordamos el Airbus 320 con el primer grupo ya que nuestros asientos estaban en la fila 44. Nos quedamos agradablemente sorprendidos de encontrar que el avión no estaba lleno y consiguió hacerse con un par de asientos extra para nosotros mismos. La hora de salida era las 12 horas y el tiempo de vuelo de 12 horas. Quítese era más o menos actualizada sobre este artista y pronto nos encontramos de crucero a una altitud de más de 3000mts con una velocidad baja de 800kms. La distancia por delante de nosotros a San José fue 8,500kms así que nos sentamos a disfrutar de la comida y de la película. El servicio era bastante bueno, con bebidas gratis, comida, etc, té y café, auriculares gratuitos y periódicos, que me recuerda los buenos viejos tiempos que vuelan antes de los "sin adornos" las compañías aéreas. Melodie se acomodó después de comer y dormía poco. Vi la película "I Bought a Zoo", que era una película muy bonita sobre el amor y dejar ir y sobre los 20 segundos de la zona sin miedo y cómo puede cambiar tu vida. Para entonces ya era sólo "7" horas para ir, me metí en mi ningún estado meditación de la mente y entró en un estado de relajación profunda. Finalmente, el final estaba cerca, por lo menos a través de la pantalla de televisión que dijo que 1.5 horas para ir. El servicio de snack pasado, las tarjetas de imigtation, declaración de impuestos ya través de las nubes que iban a aterrizar en San José. El aeropuerto era pequeño sorprende y todo parecía volver en el tiempo por lo menos 40 años (aunque melodía pensó que era más como 150yrs). La gente muy amable y nos fuimos a recoger nuestro equipaje, así, al menos la mía, junto con la tabla de surf de Melodie. Su bolsa se quedó atrás en Madrid y tuvimos que ir a ir a las reclamaciones de equipaje. Mientras se espera una niña se desmayó dos veces y le dimos un poco de agua ...... casi me desmayo con la cantidad de tiempo que tuvimos que esperar! Davis el representante de Iberia nos aseguró que la bolsa se entrega al sur de Costa Rica donde se dirigían a la mañana siguiente., El siguiente fue cambiar algunos euros a colones, con una tasa de cambio de aprox. 560 colones = 1 euro y luego fuera a coger un taxi. Nos dieron un taxi grande que nos llevó a la estación de autobuses Tracopa para comprar un boleto para la mañana siguiente. Melodie esperaba en el taxi mientras yo iba a comprar el billete, nerviosos mantener un ojo en el caso de que el taxista podría desaparecer con mi hija. Nos alojamos en el Hotel Europa, que se ve bastante bueno en Internet, pero es que era una parte seedly de la ciudad y un chico en un coche nos dijo que tenga cuidado de no.

We boarded the Airbus 320 with the first group as our seats were in row 44. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the plane wasn´t full and managed to grab a couple of extra seats for ourselves. The departure time was 12 noon and the flying time 12 hrs. Take off was more or less ontime and soon we were cruising at an altitude of over 3000mts with a ground speed of 800kms. The distance ahead of us to San Jose was 8,500kms so we sat back to enjoy the meal and movie. Service was pretty good with free drinks, food, tea & coffee etc, free headphones & newspapers, reminding me of the good old days flying before the "no frills" airline companies. Melodie got comfortable after eating and was soon sleeping. I watched the movie "I bought a zoo" which was a really nice movie about love and letting go and about the 20 seconds no fear zone and how it can change your life. By then it was only "7" hours to go , I got into my no mind meditation state and entered in a profound relaxation state. Eventually the end was in sight, at least through the TV screen which said 1.5 hrs to go . The last snack service, imigtation cards, tax declaration and through the clouds we went to land at San Jose. The airport was surprising small and everything looked like back in time by at least 40 years (although melodie thought it was more like 150yrs). Very friendly people and off we went to collect our luggage, well, mine at least along with Melodie´s surf board. Her bag got left behind in Madrid and we had to go go the baggage claims. Whilst waiting a young girl fainted twice and we gave her some water......I almost fainted myself with the length of time we had to wait ! Davis the Iberia representative assured us that the bag would be delivered to the south of Costa Rica where we were travelling to early the next morning., Next was to change some euros for colones, with an exchange rate of approx. 560 colones = 1 euro and then off to get a taxi. We got a large taxi which took us to the Tracopa bus station to buy a ticket for the next morning. Melodie waited in the taxi while I went to buy the ticket, nervously keeping an eye out in case the taxi driver might disappear with my daughter. We stayed at the Europa Hotel which looked pretty good on the internet but it was is a seedy part of the town and a guy in a car told us to be careful there.
