We have been having some tropical rainfalls lasting up to a couple of hours, everything stays humid not like in Fuerteventura where you hang something out and in no time it is dry. It´s about 30ºC during the day as it is not so sunny and at night maybe about 26º, just heard a roll of thunder. Little wind and glassy conditions in the water ........ the water temperature is about 25ºC so perfect for frioleras like me. The Costa Ricans (Tikkas) are really friendly, smiley and happy..........here it´s like turning the clock back at least 40 years with families of 4 travelling around on their motor bikes or small horses. We are sharing a house with some of the German Surf team and staying in Pavones which is 2 hours from the nearest village and to get here you have to pass a rough road
full of pot holes to get here. There are 2 small supermarkets with pretty much everything you need, no bank and some small restaurants....we ate some fabulous fresh fish last night, fried bananas and black beans yummy! Lots of land for sale, right by the beach, restaurants ,houses for sale, cars etc etc. driving down on the 10 hour bus trip from San Jose all along the way it looked like the country is "en venta". Coconut palm trees everywhere and yummy fresh coconut milk...mangos, pineapple and water melon.
Good wave conditions, long lefties and a swell picking up for this evening and tomorrow. Melodie is part of the 4 girl surf team under 18´s and the other girls, kira (living in portugal), marsha and lilly living in Germany are so nice too! Ilka is lilly´s mum and we are
sharing a house with them. The boys under 18 are also super cool and nice. The under 16´s we will meet in Panama next Friday.
