Standing @ the urinals in the toilets of the disco-tec (club in Chang Mai) & someone starts massaging my shoulders & calf's! So naturally I'm a bit freaked, i turn & it is 2 little Thai toilet attendants "it ok, It ok!" Cool then keep it up! The backpacker St that is a well padded landing zone for the jet lagged traveler. Is a real eye opener, about a k long, full of bars, restaurants, pad Thai & beer Chang vendors, clothes & souvenir shops, neon signs, hippy lookin expats, fresh fruit carts, travelers and backpacks all round. Haggus, neeps & tatties, what a way to leave scotland! I megabused it from london to edinburgh over night, 10 hrs later i got into town & got a hostel. "The Kamikaze skier" I come ripping down this really nice black run for the first time (steep as @ first then is a really top run) The sun is beating down under the bright blue sky, really nice snow @ higher altitude but as you get lower the snow was starting to melt and get slushy & form hazardous mounds everywhere! Big expensive hotels as far as the eye can see, KFC, Pizza hut, rich European & English people all round, Sharm is soo bloody touristy! I’m glad I’m only staying a night ! But the next day when I went down to the beach front and saw the masses of scantily clad women draped over deck chairs and swimming in the H2O, I guess I could probably get use to it! 1 of early Christianities only surviving churches named after the “legendary” martyr, St Kat! Kat was tortured on a spiked wheel for her Christianity & beheaded. But angels took her body up to the highest peak in Egypt! Bit of trivia for ya. Me n Pete did a day trip out to the monastery. After 17 hrs on da bus (which stopped every hour or so, for no other reason that I could see than that the driver needed a ciggy!) it was so good to get into Dahab. We went & had brekky (10ep=2 bucks) then checked out the scene & then had a swim & pulled up a deckchair on the h2o to catch some rays.
