The backpacker St that is a well padded landing zone for the jet lagged traveler. Is a real eye opener, about a k long, full of bars, restaurants, pad Thai & beer Chang vendors, clothes & souvenir shops, neon signs, hippy lookin expats, fresh fruit carts, travelers and backpacks all round. Welcome to Khoa San Rd, Bangkok!

I landed in Bangkok 18hrs after i left Edinburgh, tired & keen to get to Khoa San & find a guest house. I eventually found the bus into the city & while i was waiting i chatted to a German gal (Laura). We got to Khoa San and after a few tries we found a place that looked OK & got a twin room cause it was cheaper.
Next stop a pad Thai cart & a beer Chang, instantly fellin better!

We decide on a sight seeing day, so set of on foot the 5 K's to a huge market but after 2000 offers of a tuk tuk Small 3 wheeled moter bike like taxi) we decided to hire 1 the black Buddha, a tailor to get fitted for a suit i wasn't gunna buy, cheap though (the driver gets $ from shops he takes us to), Golden Mt (up 369 steps), T.A.T ( travel shop, more $ for the driver), Train station to book a cheap train up to chiang Mai, Wat Pho (huge temple full of Buddha statues & places to pray, then on the way back we stoped at a park full of kites & had a fanta in a plastic bag full of icr & fried egg on rice.
Next day we planned a trip to markets but slept in so we got some supplies & went to the train station for our 16 hr 3rd class train to Chiang mai.
