Well that was a really dodgy entry to a country! We get off the "ferry" and had to get our own way to the immigration office on the other side of town. The captain still had all our passports, so we are pretty keen to get them back! So we waited for 45 mins wondering if we would ever see our passports again or be really stuck! They eventually came and we got our taxi ute to drive us the half hour to Omoa. Omoa was sweet! A quiet, little, holiday, beach town and the backpackers we stayed at was tops, (Rolis place, alot of rules tho!).We had our own room for 10 bucks, big kitchen, close to the beach and a huge yard with pingpong, a rabbit and a snake! A perfect spot to chill ... read more

When you book a "ferry" for $55 U.S, from one country to another u"d think of a boat with lots of seating, shops for food & drinks & toilets. Not to be! It was a small h2o taxi with 2 small bench seats either side, that would only fit at max 30 people. We wait on the dock and this tiny boat rocks up & the sea was a bit rough & the captain had huge dramas getting the boat docked, way to enstall confidence mate! Shit will we make it?! Anyway we get off to a bumpy start but we are cruzin along. Then an engine blows! While we float helpless in the ocean the captain tries to fix it, so we climb up on the roof for a 20 min sunbake. Then were off ... read more

As we get off the H2o taxi and walk along the jetty, there is a mosaic sign greeting us. "Welcome to Caye Caulker, GO SLOW!" And this was the attitude toward life on the Is, chill out, relax, have a good time and go slow man!I look along the beach and i see palm trees, waterfront bars and reef, i think i'm going to enjoy C.C. We had originally planned to stay in Belize city but had been told it was shitty (& it was!) and to go straight to C.C. So we tagged along with most off the bus onto the h20 taxi to an Island of the coast of Belize, C.C.We planned to stay 2 days and ended up staying 5, this place was great. All sand streets, no cars, golf cart taxi's, walking ... read more

Puff, pant! damn, finally at the top of a set of 80m high near vertical, dodgy wooden stairs. As we reach the top of the temple we emerge out of the top of the jungle shrouded in mist. We sit on the top step of this huge, really old temple as the mist rolls out and the sun reveals the tops of temple 1 & 2 and k's & k's of the canopy of the guatemalan jungle. A truely amazing experience. The journey from Mex-Guat was a bit of a painful experience. We'd booked a package to flores Guat and they started off by shifting us between 3 vans and wanted to split us up with our luggage, hell no! Then we had a few hrs in a tiny boat along the river then a really ... read more

Tired? Nar, way past that! We left Mex city in the arvy a little hungover on the first day of the year! A 14 hr overnite bus, with no real sleep then we arrive in P @ 6 in the morn and got a cheap hostel (5 bucks). It would have been sooo nice to sleep but no rest for the wicked! We went to P for the runinas and all the tours went in the morn. We investigated doing a tour but they were all day tours, so being independant travelers we opted to do it on our own. We got a colectivo out to the ruinas, had a look for a while (really cool ruins in the jungle). Then after it was hot as and there are some cool h2o falls in the area. ... read more

Watch out for the crazy clown running a muck on the London underground! After Glasgow I went to stay with a mate in oxford for a few days (top place). We had our End Of Season (E.O.S) party for the work in Switzerland and the theme was what you want to be when u grow up! We went to a few costume shops but couldn’t decide. But on the morning of the party we went into a shop and tried on a clown and jester suit, and they looked so stupid we had to get em! We rocked up @ the party early and got stuck into the free booze & chatted to the early birds. Everyone started to rock up and there where some top costumes & it was great to see all the guys ... read more
