We made it!... Only just Asia » Cambodia » North » Siem Reap
I open my eyes. The hot Singapore sun beats down upon my face. I realise that we should have been up already. With just over an hour before our plane leaves and realising I'm still in bed, I smack Rohan on the foot and say GET UP WE'RE LATE!!!" We leave the room in 30 seconds flat and head strait for Changi Airport. We make it with minutes to spare. Great start to the day. An hour and a half later we arrive in Siem Reap. Being guided by the man that sits next to me on the plane, who seems [View Full Entry]

Well we are here in Singapore. We have been here for 2 days and seen quite a lot. Our fist day seemed to last for about 3 days, because of the long flights and we seemed to do so much. Singapore is clean, safe and incredibly easy to get around. We have been catching the MRT which is the train system. It is brilliant, the best I have used anywhere. You are never waiting more than 5 minutes for a train and the ticketing system is awesome. We have been to all the major sights. Raffles, Harbour Front, Sentosa Island, China [View Full Entry]

Well we have got back from Queensland. We traveled up there for a bit of business and thought we might as well see some sights as well. Our first stop was Ballina. I was exhausted after woking all night and the trip up so I crashed for a few hours while Az had his meeting. We went out that night in Ballina with a couple of Az's work collegues. We soon found out that there is a reason why Ballina isn't exactly known for its vibrant night scene. We started at a bowling club. Then moved to a pub that we [View Full Entry]

There is a big joke in Australia for people who live outside Adelaide. Adelaide is a sterile, boring place. Well it just so happens that my cousin, Tracey, lives in Adelaide and, of course, protests these claims. She invited us to go there and see that it isn't as hackneyed as everyone makes out. My brother Az and I set off for Adelaide on 22nd April. Once we arrived, I was actually a little concerned if I would even recognise my cousin. (I hadn't actually seen her for 18 years) But we both seem to recognise each other and it was [View Full Entry]

Hawaii was fantastic. We didn't really do much, just relaxed. However we did go to Pearl Harbour. It was a eerie sight to see the U.S.S Arizona sitting just under the surface. We also boarded the U.S.S Bowfin, a submarine commissioned on 7th December 1942. Plus we went to the U.S.S Missouri. The significance of that ship, is that it was there, that the Japanese signed the Instrument Of Surrender on 2nd September 1945. That brought and end to the war in the pacific and, ultimately, the war all together. We stood in the very spot where that signing took place. [View Full Entry]

Well we are leaving Vancouver today (sadly). However, we are heading to Hawaii which should be great. We did a fair bit here in Vancouver. The day of arrival saw us make our way to Stanley Park. We hired a couple of bikes and rode around this magnificent park. The following day we went up Grouse Mountain and met a woman, with an English accent, from Alice Springs called Jan. We stayed up there all day and watched the sunset. The day after, we went to Vancouver Aquarium and saw the Beluga Whales. They are a special sight to see. We [View Full Entry]

We have just arrived in beautiful Vancouver by bus from Whistler. After we left Las Vegas, we flew to Seattle via San José. Seattle was a nice town. Rohan was sick when we arrived so I headed out myself to explore. I checked out the Space Needle and a bit of Seattle Center. I was having lunch in a food court and saw a flier on a piece of the Berlin Wall that was on display and thought that might be pretty cool to see. I asked a gentlemen at an ice cream palor where the museum was because I want [View Full Entry]

Well what a town, or should we say "Light Show". We arrived in Vegas on the 5th of Feb. After we left San Diego we hit the freeway once again and made our way into Arizona. We stopped in a little town called Parker. There was an influx of people for a Desert Race and there was very little Accommodation. We managed to find a place and then checked out the local Casino. The sun rises and we hit the road yet again bound for a little town called Williams on the famous Route 66. We dropped our luggage off in [View Full Entry]

We caught the trolley from San Diego down to the boarder town of San Ysidro. We tried to take a few pics and some video footage but we nearly got arrested by doing so... needless to say we put all the cameras away untill we were right in Tijuana. A nice little smoggy, stinky, culture clash of a rat's nest that Americans seem to love so much (mostly under 21's students) We were constantly hassled by merchants, begging children and crazy shop owners. All the sights and smells makes this place one in a million. A cross between Downtown L.A. and [View Full Entry]

Well on 28/01, we flew into Los Angeles from Vancouver and met up with Az as planned (except we were given separate rooms and we thought Az was missing in action) But he stumbled upon us on the street of downtown LA. That night we headed to Hollywood... What a fake and over-rated place that is. In fact the best part about it was Hooters. The day after we headed to Long Beach and saw the Queen Mary But generally it's ordinary, then onto Santa Monica (after we worked out the stupid public transport system, In LA, stations are based on [View Full Entry]
