To avoid a potentially annoying and long-winded journey from Copan, I took one of the many shuttle services (20 Dollars, 6 Hours) direct to the central plaza in Antigua, Guatemala, stopping only a short while for the usual border formalities. It was this compared to getting a bus to the border, followed by (probably) another two to get me to Guatemala City, a taxi and then another bus. So although more expensive than public transport, the convenience factor made it a no-brainer. A few extra dollars is always worth spending if it means avoiding having some fat woman’s fat ass in my face while another fat woman sits by my side eating fried chicken during 6 straight hours.
