Today was the last of the three parks Movie World. joining us today we had Joe and Miles who were able to make the time to come along which was great. The weather again was hot and the clouds had vanished so shorts and tea shirts were the order of the day. The park had some great shows and rides but I think the big hits was the superman roller coaster and Scooby doo ride. After several rides and shows we headed home about 5pm and fed the kids so the grown ups could have a meal out alone. Once they were sorted we headed down to the local sports club for an inclusive steak and ribs buffet and a few beers to wash it down with. Our stay with Rob, Joe, leah, Miles and hector ... read more

Well todays entry i'm gonna get Sue to fill out as it was her day as you will find out. High fives to Kay, Chris and Leah for keeping it a surprise. Went to Seaworld today down by Surfers Paradise. Impressive place as really made an effort to make it good for the animals/fish. Watched the dolphin, pirate and sea lion show which were of a high standard as you would expect. Park really quiet so no queues for the few rides. When we went back to locker to get towels before going on the log flume, I got annoyed with Moe for bringing his camera. Anyway stopped off in office to supposedly to check for prices for whale watching. I suddenly heard Moe saying "Pearce family for 3.15 for dolphin encounter". Really surprised but managed ... read more

On landing Rob was there to greet us and drive us back to there house in Helensvale which took around 45 mins. we spent our evening catching up on stories and planning our stay on the Gold Coast. The weather is mid 20's so we planned our first day for Wet & Wild to catch up on our sunbathing and let the kids have a good run around. We got to the park for about ten and quickly got settled to go try a few slides. Being the winter season we did find a few rides closed for repair however we did get a good discount and the park was so empty we had no queues at all to contend with. sea world is next and a big day planned.... read more

Our last full day in Newcastle was spent on the lake racing round on a hired speed boat. It seems much harder to get onto the water here as you need a licence and insurance before going anywhere. The weather was not the best and the girls had soon had enough leaving the boys to play around on thier own. Lake Macquarie is the largest salt water lake in the southern hemisphere and host lots of lakeside shopping malls and restaurants. We stayed on the water till just after lunch then returned to the house for sustinence and a hot cup of tea then spent the afternoon chilling and looking over photos. Tonight we plan to visit an all you can eat restaurant and have a good feed. Our stay with Neil, Sarah, Katie and Imogen ... read more

Sunday was spent in the desert, well not quite but we did go to the sand dunes in Stockton where one of the Mad Max movies was filmed. The reason for our visit there was to go sand boarding down the dunes which we all found very exciting and lots of fun. The hardest thing about it all was climbing back up the dunes to the top to do it all again. From Stockton we went to Nelson Bay where we had lunch and took in some more breath taking views and the girls (supposedly) saw dolphins through a borrowed pair of binoculars. Our evening was spent at the house having a homely meal and watching the 'inbetweeners' whilst drinking a few stubbies, small bottles of beer in English. A pleasant rest from our hectic travels. ... read more

We awoke early and hoped to be on the road for around 8am but breaky and a leisurely 'get ready' we jumped in the car for 9am. Our drive would take 3 hours and we were off to the Blue Mountains to see the sights. Conversation on Horsham pubs, cars and old school friends made the journey fly by and we arrived in great spirit at Echo point for our first breath taking view of the Three Sisters, Jamison Valley and Mount Solitaire. From here we drove a short distance to to Scenic World where we took the dramatic, near vertical cliff train down the cliff side into the valley. After a short walk around the raised boardwalk through the rain forest and a history of the coal mining, we boarded the cable car for a ... read more

Our drive up from Sydney to Newcastle took about 2 hours and we arrived to a warm welcome by Sarah, Imi and Katie. We settled in and had our first aussie BBQ with Neil doing the cooking. After a little catching up and teaching Neil and Sarah to play poker we retired to bed to get rested for a busy following day. The first full day in Newcasle started with some unpacking followed by a drive round the area with myself Sue, Chris, Sarah and Neil, Katie remained home studying while Kayleigh and Imi went to school for the day. The first stop on our tour was a view of Newcastle beach and a drive to Nobby's Point where we stopped on the beach and Chris and Neil did some body boarding. After catching a few ... read more

Wednesday was a little on the wet side, actually more of a tidal wave with rain rain rain. So due to the weather we changed our plans and visited the Marime Museum in Darling Harbour. Was good to see Australia had more history at sea than just convict ships and we enjoyed finding out about thier involvement in the world wars. The rest of the day was spent shopping in Paddys Market and enjoying the covered roof top pool and gym at the hotel. In the evening we dined at a Italian restaurant recommended by our concierge which served a top pizza and garlic mushrooms. Our last day in Sydney was a little drier and we jumped on the ferry and popped over to Manly and the beach. After watching the surfers do thier thing we ... read more

G day mates from down under. We arrived into Sydney airport on time around 9.30am and jumped on the subway to Central station from where we had a short walk to hotel. Although we arrived early morning we were still able to get into rooms, which was a welcome relief as we quickly flung ourselves into our beds for a bit of shut eye. We awoke, dressed and then walked into town along George Street which runs the length of the city. Halfway into town we jumped on the free circular bus and took it as far as Circular Quay where we got to see the Bridge and Opera House (typical tourists). With the flight starting to catch up with us we jumped into a cab and returned to the hotel for a rest and showers. ... read more
