Right then, back on track with sleep and ready to get you up to speed on our travels. Our last day in Singapore was a little less hectic and we started slow with lunch at Clarks quay on the banks of the river. From there we walked into town and made a visit to Raffles for our Singapore Slings. Although we are not trying to focus on prices its sometimes hard not to, two Slings and two non alcoholic Slings for the kids came to £45 ouch!(had to be done). We arrived back at hotel around 5pm and packed cases ready for flight. when finding there was no hot water we were compensated by the hotel with a free meal at the restaurant after of course cold showers. The flight was very good and we were ... read more

Our third day in Singapore was spent at Singapore Zoo and Night Safari. After a late start to the day we arrived at the zoo about two oclock and proceeded to view the animals. As zoo's go it was ok, the animals selection was average but the location was stunning. The lack of cages made for good photo oppotunities and clear views of the animals. the humid weather made for sticky bodies so we were glad of the wet play area in the kids zone, where we had the chance to cool off and have some refreshment. We left the zoo at six and went straight onto the Night Safari. Before doing the walking tour we stopped off at the restaurant for dinner where we ate and watered. We walked off dinner while viewing the animals ... read more

Saturday was spent on Sentosa Island just off the southern end of Singapore. We travelled across to the island via the Jewel Cable Car which we jumped on at Faber Hill which takes you into the center of Santosa. Santosa is a entertainment Center with attractions such as Universal Studios, Underwater Aquarium, Sky tower, gGolf course and Hotels. We started our day with a dip in the sea at Silso Beach before heading to the Underwater Aquarium. It seams that the trend of ramming as many people as you can into a small area is not just promoted by the likes of Chesington and Thorpe park as we could hardly move or see half the tanks due to the massive crowds. Did get close to dolphins after show but typically camera battery died. The kids did ... read more

We made it and all well if not a little jet lagged. The flight was very good and service was excellent which made the 12 hours fly by. We arrived at 7.30am Friday morning. The hotel is clean but dated and the staff are very friendly, can't do enough for you. In fact they have already upgraded our rooms to two deluxe adjoining rooms. All the important things like Internet, Big bed, Tv, hudge walk in shower and the most important Air con. We have had time to get a kip and then jump on a bus tour round the city to find our bearings. The best way to describe it is like an ants nest, hundreds of thousands of people on an island not much bigger than the Isle of Wight. Its now 6pm and ... read more

Well we've had our first night away and not a lot of sleep due to excitement I guess. We arrived about 5.30pm and after checking into the room headed straight to the pool and sauna. The meal choice was the Irish bar in the hotel and we all ate very well along with a few drinks before heading to bed. Its 7.30am and the kettle is on, then breaky before hopping on the shuttle bus to heathrow T3. Singapore he we come!... read more
