Very nice little beach! Love this picture, you should make it your first. We spent three-days driving the Big Sur and were frustrated and fascinated by the fog. When the sun came out it made everything seem all the more magical, and even when it didn't the brilliance of the flowers still managed to shine through the grey. BTW, I commented on your last blog, but it registered me as "anonymous" as I wasn't logged in.
Dave has played Pebble Beach It is a beauty of a golf course. We were in town about 15 years ago and I told him to see if he could get on. They paired him up with two guys from North Carolina. He had a great time. The prices have gone up a good deal since he played but he had the best time so it was worth it. He has walked where many of the great ones have walked. We hope to get to Monterey this winter to the aquarium.
5 nights in Yosemite we stayed. One of the most beautiful spots I've been. On the last day we actually drove to Merced after breakfast, and stayed. That is enough driving for us in one day. You sure do cover those miles, and quickly!
Was great to meet you! Let me know if you need info on Morocco. I used to be a tour guide 15 years ago in the North. I loved Fes and Meknes. I also teach some golf around Agadir. i was not really a big fan of Marrakesh. What I wish I could have seen, but didn't go there was Ouarzazate. I'll be in Africa in September and November, but DRC and South Africa.
Love California I am so enjoying all your travels... I was just taking the trip you are on in early July... started in Portland, down through the Redwoods, the coastline and San Francisco... then to San Jose's Winchester House, back to the beach, PCH Hwy and down to Solvang, then back to the beach, Ventura, then inland from there... and Hollywood and Universal and then Big Bear Lake and Mojave Desert to Calico Ghost Town... We had the most amazing time... I'm from there, so this was my opportunity to show my home state to my husband and son... Enjoy your time, it's just so beautiful there!
Another nice blog. Lots of smiles in those photos. Loved seeing the kids locked up in Alcatraz! Thanks for the kind words. Hopefully, our paths will cross again. We are heading to Morocco in October.
You are so right! You can purchase fine wines in the grocery stores and the pharmacies in the areas and save a great deal of money. The wine tastings have become a racket. I still enjoy the tastings but have stopped buying wines at the wineries. I love the ambiance of the wineries and many have good food.
As you say everyone is familiar with Napa but Sonoma, Paso Robles, Mendocino.....and many, many others.
You are right Jason! You are right, I did mention it in a preceding blog. We stay only two nights in Las Vegas. What did you do staying a full week in Las Vegas? I love the place, but 48 hours is enough for me at each visit.
Hi from San Diego! Ha! You really should read your own blogs though;-) It says there at the end you are headed to Napa. We were in Vegas from 17th August to the 26th. It was damn HOT wasn't it? Can't believe we didn't spot you in the crowds!
Hi from Bangkok Hi Jason, you are like me, you look at the pics but don't read the blog, it say at the end that we are back in Bangkok...back at home as it is school time! We were still in Las Vegas few days ago, we left LV on the 21st. Our next little stop in the States should be in April 2012...enjoy Las Vegas! for us, after 10 weeks on the road it's good to be back home...for few days...
The whale at Klamath River We drove through there around July 25th and saw the whale, minus baby. Seems like you have visited some of the same places we did on this latest trip coming down the West Coast. It may become the new gringo trail;-) Where are u now, maybe you'll catch up with us, we are currently tsaying at the Trump Las Vegas and then have about two weeks more in southern California before flying over to kauai.
What a surprise to see that you guys were in BC! You're absolutely right about Whistler in the winter - it's awesome!! Hope you enjoyed your time here, definitely come back soon, there is so much more to see and do! ;)
Amazing! Just found your blog and I'm enjoying reading it.... I do everything IN ORDER, so here I am... reading along... I'll try to read as fast as you travel! Your Zero G sounds like a fantastic time!
A fabulous overview of our Golden Region Thanks for visiting us in April! More importantly, thanks for sharing your experience with your readers!
Cheers,
Aline
This blog is just short of 10 years old. We have now move to South Africa.
Why South Africa? Simple, great wine, great food, great golf and even more amazing diving! I will for once continue to blog from time to time about home. After all, this is just my fourth continent after having grow up in Europe, lived in Asia for twenty years, and even spent a full year living the life of Buenos Aires.
Come to visit....there is so much to do here! ... full info
