thanks for sharing Love the father and son photos. Leslie with his own hat! Loveeeeeitttttt. I hope to do this trip one of these days, Peter. Your tips most appreciated.
Little Leslie is very lucky to see so many places, I hope he enjoyed his school holidays.
Great pictures, I especially love the second one, Wat Ho Pha Bang.
:) We did this trip in the other direction... Luang Prabanng ---> Huay Xai... The boat had hardly anyone on it, so plenty of seating. we even had an 8 month old backpacker baby on board to keep us entertained...
Enjoy Luang Prabang (if you haven't already left yet), we seriously loved it there! :)
LUCKY YALL Hey I am from Georia USA, considering teaching english abroad, WOW is all I can say.I really enjoyed the trip details and the photos....The price was awesome,I feel like you guys are in heaven becasue everything is so beautiful. Thank You for this post I am really considering Asia now. Thanks
We remember the journey to Laos well on the slow boat. It was a great experience, we met so many people who we are still good friends with...bonded by the slow boat experience! Have a great time...enjoy the coffee and cakes in Luang Prabang, we are drooling just thinking about them! Have fun x
Wouahh Leslie ! Yes, whouaaanhhh Leslie, what you do there !!!!! I'm sur you enjoy this new game.... You are an happy boy and I'm an happy Bonne Mamy seing all you do !!! Big kisses !!!
W.O.W!!!!! Great pictures and such an amazing experience. May I ask how on earth people get on this? Do you need some kind of license or qualification to fly like this? Or is it just a tourist thing? Do I dare ask how much this costs?
Great blog anyway - I enjoyed it. :D
Thanks for all your comments! don't worry too much, I'm still a very regular on Air Asia too. It's all about Carpe Diem...enjoy today, let it be in First or on Air Asia...smile!
Henry, nice to hear from you. Don't worry, the shower room is of such a size...and the hot water is already putting temperature pretty high, not sure we would raise much further the temperature. And 2 different flight attends confirmed to me...if you don't disturb anybody, we will not knock on the door....this is the sad realization of a simple point...they let you play more freely in front of the plane.
One last interesting point, I never had so many hits in less than 2 days...over 640 hits in 48 hours...I leave to each the choice of putting an interpretation to why such success...
FOR YOUR INFO SMUGGY! Thank you stephen! I just found this. I didn't think your comment was narrow at all, far from it.. For your info!.. I was in Phuket Thailand some years ago. (oh, how I used to love telling people that).... THEN I WENT BACK!.... At least, I think it was the same place, one was paradise the other was.........what to say.....it was like the highest mountain, with a big loud-speaker, and the smuggest ego!!!
Pierre! come on....the world has been moving for a LONG time, and with it, the way it is, we can hope, that people are evolving like stephen! The definition of insanity> Making the same mistakes over and over but expecting different results!!!
Pierre, read stephens opinion 30-40 times you may get it?
I can only say wow!!... I've never flown in first class (and probably never will), but like Donna and Neil said, one could get used to it pretty fast!!... I should start saving and give it a go one day... it must be hard to go back to economy after that ;o)
How the other half live! Wow, that looks great. We have never experienced business or first class, but it's a step up from Air Asia for sure! We'd say it's a lifestyle you could quickly become accustomed to!
Safe travels guys and enjoy your next trip, we look forward to reading the blogs! Donna and Neil x
Thank you for sharing! Have no doubt, this was an interesting read. Being a fellow traveller who has no car but splurges on travel, this could be an experience to attempt one day. Surprised at the lack of privacy in the Suites, but the shower is amazing. Please try Qatar Business Class, they have wonderfully cheap airfares from Bangkok.
Sex n the shower Pierre-Alexandre, DO NOT HAVE SEX WITH MARY IN THE SHOWER AT 35,000 ft. A friend of mine did it in BA in the toilets. The heat detector went on and he and his sea mate got detained for a few hours when they landed in London. Cheers. Henri
to Michael Hi Michael, sadly I have to admit a return first on a long haul will always be out of my reach on any of these flights. This is why I love Cathay so much...I splurge my miles on a business class, and they even upgrade me to First on a miles ticket...the trick is to book way ahead on flights that i know will be fully booked later on in business. It's a miles game!
This blog is just short of 10 years old. We have now move to South Africa.
Why South Africa? Simple, great wine, great food, great golf and even more amazing diving! I will for once continue to blog from time to time about home. After all, this is just my fourth continent after having grow up in Europe, lived in Asia for twenty years, and even spent a full year living the life of Buenos Aires.
Come to visit....there is so much to do here! ... full info
