Great fun! Looks like it was loads of fun! Might have to add Lebanon to my 'white gold' wish list! :-)
Looking forward to the entry with Tiffany - enjoy the time together!
We share your interest My husband and I long for Lebanon. He is from Toledo, Ohio and there is a large population of Lebanese and a couple of amazing restaurants.
It is on our short list and have enjoyed reading. Thanks for sharing.
Love Bosra! I once spent an entire week living in that castle with a friend. After all the tourists had gone home for the day the guards would lock us in for the night with the bats, dark tunnels and the trippy acoustics. We used to tell both locals and tourists alike that it was our castle, after a week we started to believe it ourselves...until they threw us out;-)
First Time I heard of it,frankly Thanks for this blog, Peter. I wouldn't have known about some Crusader castle in far away Syria if not for this blog. Honestly, I never heard of it. But I can imagine what great experience it has been for you, Mari and Leslie.....and oops, not to forget --- the lucky taxi driver too. That is funny. You made his day. A good deed at the start of the year. Great going!
Ignore the haters! Keep up the good work, Peter and ignore the haters. The anonymous commenter is just jealous of your great life of travelling...your blog is inspiring and great to read! Happy travels, Donna and Neil
Happy New Year to all Bloggers! Start the year with a smile........happy new year all bloggers! Aleppo seems so interesting. Peter, you travel to so many places and you always get me convinced to add more to my bucket list! Great blog, my friend.
Hey Guys
A really strange place to find such a comment.
We aspire to your lifestyle and have recently had our first daughter so hope to follow in your families footsteps!
Looking forward to your next entry.

Another great trip! We also love traveling, and can relate strongly to your "obsession". We look forward to you next posts!
Happy New Year from Bangkok!
keep blogging I think a big thankyou is due to all the bloggers who make this site so interesting for us non travellers and well done families and oldies who travel - so - to Maisondubonheur - keep blogging, many thanks and happy new year! Bridget Watters
to the comment below... The only obsession I have in my life is my family and travelling...that I admit! So if it is to make unfriendly comments, why don't you simply have the guts to tell me who you are! Nobody oblige you to read my blog who ever you are...
It seems this blog has become somewhat of an obsession for you. I just wonder, if you thought nobody was "watching" what you were doing, what would you do with your life?
Congratulations! :) This blog was nominated one of the best of 2010 in the Africa/photography category ''Great landscape pictures & I’m SO jealous of the underwater pictures of whale sharks & sting rays.''

Great information Loved you sharing your educational background so we can see how this trip fits into your personal history. I always love following along on your travels. Thanks for sharing.
This blog is just short of 10 years old. We have now move to South Africa.
Why South Africa? Simple, great wine, great food, great golf and even more amazing diving! I will for once continue to blog from time to time about home. After all, this is just my fourth continent after having grow up in Europe, lived in Asia for twenty years, and even spent a full year living the life of Buenos Aires.
Come to visit....there is so much to do here! ... full info
