Brrr! Hi guys, a great start to 2012 for you. We are in HK beginning of next week and are dreading the cold, funny how used to hot weather you an get! It looks like you kept warm and had lots of fun on your weekend. There is loads to do in HK, although as you say they seem to be centred around transportation and it's still one of our favourite cities in the world. Here's to a year full of travelling!
A good start. So, this is your first of many, many interesting blogs for the year. Your children look so happy, and so do you and Mari. God bless your family, Peter! Each of your blog entries continue to bring cheer to me.
Peter, No-one wants to see gorgeous photo's such as these! :) Seriously, looks like 2012 started well for you and your family. All the best for the year! :)
Hi, from Argentina You say "some dream, we live". I would like you to say you are very lucky because you can dream your own dreams. It would be nice that you say "thanks to life for all the blessings", or any other way you would like to express "thanks". It was just a thought.
What a way to bring in 2012! Happy New Year - you know how to see in the new year in style! Hope you have packed your woolies for Hong Kong and Shanghai...a bit of a change from Fiji and Australia temperatures. Best wishes for 2012, here's to lots of travelling!
haha! That bus is positively luxurious compared to some of the buses we have been on in Asia...makes us a little jealous that it's in such good condition ;). Seems like you are enjoying your Christmas away - love the Santa encounter...what a nice man! Enjoy your diving and we are disappointed for you that you ended up eating McDonalds on Christmas day! Stay safe and have fun x
wonderful as always Mari and family...Have a wonderful time together. Enjoy and treasure each moment of it. Hope you have a great New year and many more adventures in it...
so lucky! I must admit I'm a bit jealous!!! ;o) even though we're are in Spain with my family and it's the warmest winter I can remember... we've been to the beach as well, but with coats on :oD
Christmas greetings from my family to yours! Christmas in Fiji! And all 4 of you. How nice. May not be the best beach or island destination, but sometimes we travel not for the sites but for the family bonding time. I'm sure the children would always remember this first Christmas together long into their adult years. Love the photos esp of the children! Merry Christmas to you all! [photo=6660955]
Wouaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.... You are nice boys !!!!!! Enjoy your hollidays..... I love you, I miss you...... But June is coming soon....
Happy New year my loves !!!!!!
Sharks! too many for comfort, even for a non-diver like me who just reads your adventures. I'd likely faint just seeing a couple. And u say u have a toy to attract more? I'm tempted to say crazy, but I know you know what you're doing :-)
Stay safe?
I forgot to mention! Important info for all those who dream about liveaboard...but for who it's out of their reach. Mike Ball has come with a great idea. If you have some diving experience, the take on board 3 volunteers at a time. You don't pay, can dive 2 to 4 dives a day, but need to help. You can do that for a week or two even more. This won't be a relaxing experience, as 4 dives a day is alreay a killer if on top you've got to work for few hours, but it's a great opportunity.
Amazing! Lovely pics P A! What an experience it must be to swim in waters teeming with sharks. Sometimes, I really do wish I could swim and join you divers beneath the ocean waves :)
Sex Tourists I have to agree with you. There woudn't be any prostitution if there are no clients. Honestly, I wouldn't feel safe and comfortable sleeping in any hotel where sex tourists stay, swim in pools and walk barefoot in beaches of Thailand's SIN cities !
Crown of Thorns Starfish The creature you 'had no idea what it was is a Crown of Thorns Starfish. Although it looks pretty it's actually deadly to the coral as it eats it! I was amazed the first time I saw one too!
YOU'RE RUDE Honestly, whatever you wrote in this blog is completely ignorant. Pattaya may not be the nicest place in Thailand, but there BEAUTIFUL BEACHES out there in THAILAND. You just DON'T KNOW ABOUT that others tourists VISIT and ARE IMPRESSED. If Thailand weren't that great, not beautiful, trashed, name all the ignorant words you would you, WHY ARE THERE SO MANY TOURISTS THERE? WHY DO PEOPLE KEEP VISITING THAILAND? YOU KNOW WHAT IS UGLY? YOU ARE UGLY, YOU LITTLE CONDESCENDING ***HOLE. YOU'RE HOUSE IS THE UGLY LITTLE HUMAN ZOO. YOU DON'T LIVE THE LIVE. YOU'RE LIVING THE HELL LIFE OBVIOUSLY SINCE THE ONLY THING YOU SEEM TO DO IS SH*T ON OTHERS.
Dear Jasmine Would have been nice if you would have left your email. Honestly, did you at least read my blog? I have specifically written about Pattaya, and downtwon Pattaya, I think my entry is pretty clear. Now I propose you browse through my other entries if you want to discover some nice entries about Thailand...and there are a lot!
Oh dear... This photo is both hilarious and tragic at the same time... We contemplated stopping at Pattaya on our way back from Koh Samet, so glad we didn't. We actually took a day trip to the Sanctuary of Truth from Bangkok about 8 years ago, but thankfully we bypassed Pattaya completely by using a taxi from the bus station, looks like we may have dodged a bullet then too. :)
Safe travels guys, and have a spectacular Christmas all together!
Definitly not a nice place I have to completely agree with you! We have had the fortune to visit Thailand maybe 10 times and try to go to different places everytime and our visit to Pattaya was definitly on the disgusting side :( We stayed at the Hard Rock cafe which was a very very nice hotel but even around the pool there was a lot of 50 plus year old men with 5 to 10 year old boys. I pray that they were their grandsons but i doubt it :(( I will most certainly not travel there again especially with my kids. Such a shame and i think that city by itself is often what gives Thailand its s3x image :( Glad your hotel was nice though!
This blog is just short of 10 years old. We have now move to South Africa.
Why South Africa? Simple, great wine, great food, great golf and even more amazing diving! I will for once continue to blog from time to time about home. After all, this is just my fourth continent after having grow up in Europe, lived in Asia for twenty years, and even spent a full year living the life of Buenos Aires.
Come to visit....there is so much to do here! ... full info
