My kids were 6, 8 and 10 when we moved back to the States for the first time for them... I thought this was a good age to move, just as you analyzed for your kids. However, they had a hard time adjusting and making friends. No one wanted to hear what it was like living in Europe, which is all they knew. I sincerely hope your kids find some good friends quickly. I hope your time in Argentina is a wonderful experience.
Those look like two happy kids A beautiful city. A beautiful sunset. Can't wait to hear about your continued explorations. I'm glad your mums love of the city, country had an influence on you.
love the last pic! I got a bit confused... are you going to be traveling for a year and a half but the kids are going to school??
Also, you should buy a Kindle!... I used to carry books around as well, but now I use that 'magic machine' when I'm traveling... so much lighter, and you can stock up hundreds of books in it!!
Hi You will have your answer when I find the time to write the next blog....hopefully in the next 24 hours...yes, we are going to manage school and travelling...but not all the time on the move obviously.
I mainly read travel magazines, Conde Nast Travellers UK, Conde Nast Traveler US, Travel & Leisure SouthEast Asia, DestinAsia and Business Traveller....and to be honest, even if not ecologically friendly speaking, I prefer the paper version. Leslie is seriously considering the kindle...he eats books one after the other...
not really near you for a while Lili... Packing...well...golf bags...diving gears...ski equipment...only those for 3 people take some space...and weight...
More diving -- how jealous we are But-- we will be on the road again very soon, making our own blogs. Loved the story about the waiter/ dive master. Too funny. Sorry you won't be diving for 2 months but I know you'll find plenty of other things to keep you busy.
Fish Rock Bula!
I have dived Fish Rock too - it is one of my absolute favourite dives ever. And, as you know, I have Rainbow Reef and the Great White Wall right on my doorstep! I spent a lot of time in NSW when I was doing my Instructor's course and was lucky enough to dive Fish Rock a couple of times - I always recommend it to people because no-one has ever heard of it!
Glad you enjoyed it so much. Best wishes to you all - come back and see us in Fiji sometime!!

I still don't know why you drove 1000 km out of your way... to stay at a dead surfer town in the middle of winter. Are the hotels that expensive in Brisbane? Glad that you connected with Shane again after the party in KL. We hope to see him in October somewhere in the South Pacific.
Dinner in the Holiday Inn Sorry I could not meet you for dinner there (my trip to Holiday Inn is now the end of August), but I'll shall see you in Brisbane this evening where there are more numerous and reasonably priced eating options!
"Our Garden..memories!" PA I am SO glad you made it to PNG - its a special kind of wonderful isnt it? Long live PNG being too expensive and too much of a hassle for all but the truly dedicated. Walindi is beautiful, the culture is way way out there...you really know you have stepped into a 40,000 year old world when cannibalism and sorcery is the mainstay of the local news. Reading the title of this blog made my heart soar..You made it! Another one off the bucket list. I hope you find PNG as beautiful and wild as I did and look forward to your next blog and more pictures. Just..awesome!
Thanks a lot Cindy, amazing it was...indeed...and one less on the bucket list...
Still have a good 10-15 places on that list to dive...so going to take a little while....now, I'm really awaiting January 2013...even if there should be more fun diving before that date....
We want your life Sorry the Holiday Inn did not meet the standards but looks like your diving was fantastic and that is the point! Great photography as always. Can't wait to read more.
Bye for now I look forward to following your travels for the next year and a half. I also hate people who leave inappropriate comments without a name or email, cowards! The least they could do is own up to their comment so I could respond and we could discuss the topic like adults.
Thanks.... Well...the best is most of the time comments are actually out of topic...on the personnal side...I know friends who have stopped to blog because of such silly comments...I won't...just make me want to give it a little zest of salt from time to time...
This blog is just short of 10 years old. We have now move to South Africa.
Why South Africa? Simple, great wine, great food, great golf and even more amazing diving! I will for once continue to blog from time to time about home. After all, this is just my fourth continent after having grow up in Europe, lived in Asia for twenty years, and even spent a full year living the life of Buenos Aires.
Come to visit....there is so much to do here! ... full info
