Taman Negara National Park is spread over 4343 sq km of dense lowland forest. We arrived here just as the heavens opened and when i mention heavans, its not like rain we have at home, but luckly we found a motel to stay in, as where we wanted to stay were all fully booked, school holidays or something for the Malay people. We got up and got our permits to be here and did a walk through the jungle to a canopy walk, which is 30m off the ground and is 500m long swaying bridge, made from aluminium ladders bound by [View Full Entry]

We arrived here by boat, and the water was SO clear, we had never seen anything like it, and we thought Thailand Islands were stunning, this was paradise, we went for the smaller beach, with less bungalows and shops/restuarants. We hired snorkels for the day and it was great fun, we saw lots of fish, I got very excited when i saw Nemos (Clown Fish), shouting through my snorkel, yes like a child! the water was cool and really calm. We have had to detox on this island, as Malaysia is a Muslim country there is hardly anywhere that sells beer! [View Full Entry]

We arrived here by boat, we hit the top deck and did some sunbathing and people watching, some of the girls were in full bikinis, the boys loved it, now i know why Stu's sunnies are so dark! ha ha We didnt know what to expect as Phi Phi was hit by the Boxing Day Tsunami back in 2004, but we saw a before picture and its pretty much the same, the beaches and surrounding jungle is stunning but the town in the centre isnt very impressive, its quite enclosed and on top of each other. We were quite high up [View Full Entry]

We arrived here by mini bus, which took around 5hrs, but the views on the way were amazing, bus driver was a little nutty but we got there safely! We got picked up by the owner of the Green Mountain View Bungalows, he was a mad local man but really helpful and friendly called Mr Kawi, his family were lovely too, his wife did the cooking and he did the talking. They had a puppy which we named Micheal Flattley, because when the dog ran to you, his front legs were dead straight, he was our pet dog the 3nights we [View Full Entry]

BANGKOK: We left Bangkok the day after we said our goodbyes to Sue and Dave. We bought our sarongs as beach towels and was ready to leave the City for some relaxation onthe beach. Our last night we were having a quiet drink when a local lady (well we think she was anyway!) who was wearing very very small shorts, more like knickers, no shoes, no top or bra arrived on the busy drinking street in Bangkok and laid down a plastic sheet, ran around it several times, twisting and throwing around a sarong, laid it onthe floor, placed some flowers [View Full Entry]

Laos - Vang Vieng Asia » Laos » West » Vang Vieng
We arrived here by mini bus, the road wasnt too bad, it had been closed for 2 days with the amount of rain we had, there had been several land slides, but no one was hurt. Vang Vieng had great scenery of green mountains and the Nam Song River where you can go tubing! but for the town its very backpacker heaven and not very nice to look at and stay for long. Sue didnt want to go tubing, so we all went and got our lorry inner tube (lisa was a good girl and wore a life jacket) and off [View Full Entry]

We made our way to Chang Khong, which is the town across from Laos(border town), we just had to make our way across the Mighty Mekong. The heavens opened all day and all night, we got up pretty early to make the crossing and exit Thailand, stamp in the passport, there getting pretty full now, we had a man from our booked tour waiting for us, we got onto a small boat, everyone apart from Lisa had walking shoes on, Lisa had her flip flops and with all the rain, we had to walk down the bank to the Mekong and [View Full Entry]

We arrived in Chiang Mai,by an over night train, took around 13hrs, an hour late. The hotel was really nice, we could get used to staying in places like that! , had a walk around for some breakfast, we went the wrong way as we couldn't find anything, but later that day we turned the other way and all the restaurants and bars were down there. There was still a small amount of girls selling themselves but not too bad. Sue and I dragged the boys around the markets (we love them!), had some good food and drink. Dan wasn't feeling [View Full Entry]

Kanchanaburi - Pop: 64.300 We arrived at Kanchanaburi by local train from Bangkok, which only took around 2hrs. Our guesthouse was on the River Kwai in a really quiet location, the place was like a house boat, really nice and clean. We booked a day trip to several places which included Sai Yok Noi waterfall, which wasnt very impressive quite man made but quite nice, some hot springs, which were really hot, Stu couldnt go in with his new tattoo, i could but had to have my arm out of the water, Hell fire Pass and memorial museum, the railway was [View Full Entry]

The night we arrived back to Bangkok from Pattaya, Stu and I got a tattoo done (sorry Mum and Dad!), Sue didnt seem too impressed with Stu's ankle! tee hee, i am such a bad influence! Sue and Dave arrived in Bangkok, it was good to see them and hear all the stories of home. The first night we took them for a drink and people watching along Khao San Road, with the largest beer, 3ltrs worth! We went to the Grand Palace, men and women have to cover up, shoulders covered with a shirt or sarong, men had to wear [View Full Entry]
