We arrived in Bangkok early evening, it took around 4-5hrs from the boarder, so not too bad. We got dropped off onthe main back packers/clubbers strip, we went for a drink, before heading to our chosen guesthouse. Stu and I stayed here for 3 nights, before Mr Dan Harris arrived, we then took him to Pattaya (Sex Capital of Asia) for a few nights, before heading back to Bangkok to meet Stu's folks. Now Pattaya, what can i say............. unless your Male, Fat, strange, no idea how to speak to a lady then this is the place for you, the men [View Full Entry]

We left Seam Reap by Boat, by the picture onthe ticket, it looked quite nice and relaxing for 7-10hrs, but when we arrived it was a small but long boat, where everyone had to sit either side and stare at each other the whole way, ha ha!! We went through a floating village called "Chong Kneas", then out on too a large lake called Tonle Sap Lake, but it was really rough, we got soaked, then back through small water ways and villages, very scenic. We saw a fair bit of wild life on the way, a Monkey among the grasses, [View Full Entry]

We arrived on yet another long bus journey, this time approx 10hrs and he never took his flipping hand of the hooter, even is there was nothing in his way..... gets to you after a while..... We arrived at a recommend guesthouse, with a swimming pool - lovely! Seam Reap is very kitted out for the tourist, but its still a nice place and the people are friendly and always want to talk to you, but there alot of beggers (kids and adults) and a lot of them have some kind of disability, its still hard to understanding why this is [View Full Entry]

Kratie Province Asia » Cambodia » East » Kratié
We got here after a 9hr epic bus journey..... We found a great guest house, which looked over the Mekong River, Kratie is known for its Fresh Water Dolphins called Irrawaddy and relaxed atmosphere. But you can see in years to come this will be a very popular place for tourists. We booked a 1/2 day trip on motorbikes with a driver to see the dolphins and sombok mountain(temple), the boat trip was about 1.5hrs and we saw lots of dolphins, its great to see them as they are diminishing fast, due to the over fished river and poluation. We stayed [View Full Entry]

We arrived in PP for a couple of days before heading off again.... We didnt really like or enjoy PP as much as another other city we have been to so far, the atmosphere is strange, cant put our finger on what it is though, apart from one main reason is every 2 seconds we get asked if we want Cocaine, Weed, You want a smoke Mr, i make good price for you" , which becomes very annoying after a while. But we made the most of our time here and visited the Killing Fields of Choeung Ek and Tuol Sleng [View Full Entry]

Kampot The next day we left for Kampot, which is a sleepy riverside village but is slowly coming alive with tourists. This bus journey was the worst so far, we had the whole of the back seat and we were flying around, two lorry/bus tyres was in the walk way, so when we wanted to get off we had to climb the chairs in front, all good fun. These roads had the biggest pot holes and the roads are red dust roads. There's a video, once I work out how to add this i will. Kampot was really nice, most things [View Full Entry]

HCMC: We arrived in Saigon after about 7hrs by bus and a very bumpy bus at that, from Dalat. We got dropped off along a backpackers heaven steet, full of bars, restuarants and gueshouses, so we walked for a while until we found a bargain, only down fall was it was a fan only no air con, bad move, it was sooo hot! Found a chain bar called Le Pub (we saw Lou Carpenter in Hanoi at the same bar) and had a cocktail in there, as recommended by Stu's cousin Kelly, good choice. My flip flops snapped(only Lisa's 2nd pair [View Full Entry]

Phu Quoc Island Asia » Vietnam
We got an internal flight with Vietnam Airlines to Phu Quoc Island from Saigon, which was about an hour away. We arrived around lunchtime, got attacked by all the hotel/guesthouses sellers, trying to get you into one of there's, we wanted somewhere rustic and a good price, and we found one, so off we went on their motorbikes to the guesthouse...... it took around 10minutes on nice smooth tarmac roads then we hit dusty red gravel roads, we arrived and it was just wanted we wanted. Some monks arrived on their hols and gave us some fruit, which looks like Lycee [View Full Entry]

Hard Life!
Our beach
Its a hard life, with a bedroom view like this!

We arrived in Cambodia on 3rd June by boat along the Mekong Delta/River from Vietnam, this river is busy, the people that live along the sides do everything in and with the river. Still on the Vietnam side, we stopped to see a small fishing village and saw how they keep their fish (under their floating homes) and when they are the right size they will be exported and its how we buy fish from a supermarket in packets. A bit further along we stopped to see a minorty village which is slightly inland but all houses are on stilts for [View Full Entry]

NEXT STOP: Hue We arrived around 8am, after being on a bus for 10hrs over night, we needed a sleep, but once we became human again we went to the Citadel, which has a 10km perimeter and was begun in 1804 by Emperor Gia Long. Its mainly houses and shops for the tourists now but it had some really nice streets and people, while we were walking and taking in the sights a local on his Cylco started to cycle next to us and asking questions about us and where we were from etc etc the normal things they ask, quite [View Full Entry]
