Hey everyone! I hope the new year is going fabulously. Mine is pretty decent. I'm still not going to school, not until February 6th (yah, I know, right? haha). I was kind of in a slump of not doing things, but I'm out of that now, haha :) I changed houses a little while ago, about 2 weeks ago. I like my new family. I have a host sister and 2 brothers (only one of which lives at home) . Actually!! One of my 'brothers' just had a baby!!!! TODAY! Valentina !! so that's super cool. The first baby !! They are all nice. I like the new house, I have my own room, with a big double bed again, and my own bathroom! Coolio, haha! And now that I have a funky new LAPTOP (*thank ... read more

I went back to Vallarta on the 30th, with my friend Jozefien from Belgium, and we stayed at my friend Olivia's house. We went to the beach on the 31st.. just so we'd be nice and relaxed so we could stay out all night.. haha We started off with dinner at Olivia's house... With her dad, mom, and some of her mom's friends. Her dad is a really good cook (he's from Sweden, so we had a swedish-mexican meal. SO good.) and we finished it off with DELICOUS chocolate cake, yum yum. haha. There was also a guitar man that Gilda (say it Hilda... remember, your in mexico and G sounds like H) hired. When you're eating fabulous food, on the balcony, under the stars, with candles, and guitar/piano music.... basically you just realize that you ... read more

Merry christmas! (finally!) I realize this blog comes very late, and I apologize. I hope everyone's christmas was SUPER amazing, as christmas should be. I had a really rocking christmas, and have been througharly (have no idea how to spell that. My english spelling is getting worse, if possible) enjoying my insane amount of vacation time. Vacation started for me about Thursday the 14th , when I went to Guadalajara. Went out with some friends that weekend, did a little christmas shopping (Which I ADORE!), hung out. Then my friend, another X-student from Canada, came over on Sunday and stayed at my house, until we went back to Puerto Vallarta on Tuesday. So unfourtunatly Rosemary(my friend) comes the only week we've had with clouds in the last two months, so we didn't get a chance to ... read more

I LOVE TRAVELING. (anyone have any questions so far? haha) From the 19th to the 26th, I was traveling with the fabulous exchange students of Rotary District 4150. First took a bus to Tepic from Vallarta, joined up with the students there, took a bus to Mazatlan where we met up with ALL the exchange students going (53). We hung around until 11 at night, and arriving at about noon, we had a lot of time to kill. The Rotary Club was hosting a International food event, and the exchange students from Maz. made food from there country. And I had sushi(second time in my life) from Aya, Yuki and Yuka, and this time I actually liked it! So after some hanging out at the beach we left for Las Mochis on a bus with a ... read more

Hi everyone! (as either cheers or sighs ring out around the world at the news that Kristina didn't fall off the side of a cliff to be lost forever) I realize that I haven't written a blog in a hundred years (that's accurate, if you round up),but here we go to make up for it, random jotted notes: So a few weeks ago, I had a district breakfast, where all the exchange students were introduced to all the Rotary Members that had chosen to come. We all wore our fancy jackets that are quickly filling up. My favorite thing about mine is the glittery Virgin of Guadalupe patch I bought and sewed to the back. After the breakfast, we went to the house of one of the students for lunch, cascarita- casual soccer, and hang out ... read more

So I have come out on the other side of my first thanksgiving meal without the family, and I managed to survive with only a few minor burns and scratchs! So heres the story of my first thanksgiving: Lupita and I went food shopping (after scouting out the stores for where to get everything), and that only took us about 4 hours. And I am not even kidding. As it is clearly not thanksgiving here, and American thanksgiving isnt until November, the stores didnt have the best selection of turkey. So turns out all they had was smoked turkey, which eventually turned out fine, but let me tell you... oie. We (Lupita, Eduardo and I), so we called their grandson who is a chef, and it actually turns out that the kind we got, you only ... read more

This is just an update to say I have added pictures to two previous blogs, so that makes just about ALL the blogs with pictures. If you just scroll down on the original page when you opened THIS blog, you can see which blogs have pictures, that maybe you didn't see. And by the way, got the results of some of my tests back, and turns out, I'm NOT going to fail, at least not this term! i have a solid 10/10 in history, snaps for me! 9/10 in Biology, got 7.5/10 on the math test... the others aren't as good, so won't be bragging about them here. haha. But I didn't fail the subject I actually like, and thats all that matters right? The teachers I like like me too now, so we're all good. ... read more

Where did I leave off: The two school days I spent at Gaby's school went well. It was definatly nice to being something that might even appear to be useful (I did hand out dry pasta and glue after all). Friday night was a really fun night ! I went out with some of the other students from GDL, and we all went to this birthday party for a friend of a past exchange student. Yah, that was kind of complicated, but the jist of it is, went to a party. The way Mexico does parties (if the birthday person is priviliged enough) is in a very big way. They rent out party spaces and set up a big tent with tables and chairs, and a dj and usually either live mariachi or banda music. This ... read more

So I was in school for one full week (almost a record I think) after the conference. it was good to be back in PV, to see my friends, to be in my own room and not live out of a suitcase. School was fine all in all, although there are a couple things about school that I can live without (namely the crazy boys and the literal mountain of homework I accumulate). The homework really is ridiculous. I get a new assignment every day in almost every class, and the classes are only every two or thre days so the teachers give us big assignments to 'tide us over' until the next class. Not counting the homework I am missing this week while I am in GDL again, I have almost 20 different assignments ... read more

Just got back from my very first Rotary Youth Exchange Conference! (Campemento Mazatlan to be exact... I have a t-shirt to prove it) It was definatly a good time... Ever get to suntan at a conference? ... yah.. I don't know what I did to get to live this kind of life, ha ha. So I was in GDL the whole week before the conference, which means I missed the whole week of school. missing a whole week of school that you don't understnad = coming back and everything being exactly the same. haha. I have to figure out what I missed. I can hardly figure out what I didn't miss, but did in class! Ah well. I will do it. (duh duh duh daaaa.. super k.) So Friday I left on the bus with ... read more
