At long last, after much preparation, Monica and I are on the final days of a grueling countdown to our bi-continent gallivant. China, S.E.A. to Central America, Monica and I are eager to see them all, with so many adventures at our fingertips.
Hello Everyone! First off, Happy New Year! I know we are late but we have been moving around quite a bit. We hope everyone had a great New Year's Eve and that the New Year is starting off great. After we left Granada we took a very wavy ferry ride to Ometepe Island. An island formed by two volcanoes. We stayed there for 3 days. It was a pretty area with the volcanoes in the background. We did some hiking and relaxing by the lake. The largest lake in Central America. We left there on the 29th becuase we decided to go back to San Juan Del Sur for New Years Eve. The four days spent there were great. We did lots more surfing and hanging out at great beaches. For New Years Eve they had

A little town beside the Arenal volcano. It is a neat little town where there are lots of adrenaline activities one can participate in. Our adventures began with a volcano hike, in the pursuit to see lava. We had a bit of walk through the forest to get to the viewpoint on the volcano to see lava. Our guide was awesome and could really spot the wildlife. Our first picture in Costa Rica is of a sloth, very cool! Sloths really are very, very slow. There is no rush to take a picture. They are cool animals though and we got to see both the three toed

First off though, Cambodia was GREAT! We loved the country. It had such an amazing feel to it. After Phnom Penh we headed off to Siem Reap. This was a cool smaller town that mostly consisted of markets, lots of restuarants and guest houses becuase the only reason people come here is to see Angkor Wat. We met another two people and the 4 of us found a great place to stay. The next day we all got up very early(5am), found a tuk tuk driver willing to take us all day around Angkor for a cheap price and

After we got some tailor made clothes for us in HoiAn we ventured off to Na Trang. We climbed aboard another sleeper bus for a semi-sleepless night to the next major city. Although thankfully the sleeper buses have 3 rows of bunk beds so you actually get to lay down. Na Trang is a beach town in Vietnam. We arrived at 6 am, found a hostel and took off to the beach. But the beach was pretty dirty and after sitting down for one second we had 5 people around us trying to sell us stuff. Oh the wonders of Vietnam. But its all part of the experience. Because the beach wasn't

We cannot believe it has been two weeks since the last blog!! I suppose we just had so much fun in Laos that we could not find time to write although Mom's know we were safe as we both called from Laos. Our last one left off as we were heading into Laos on the slow boat to Luang Prabang. Day one of two of the boat trip was amazing. It started off very if-y as we were told many bad things about the boat trip from the Laos boat organizer. This was all an attempt to get many people to take

We rented a scooter for one day and drove around the island, checking out the two famous waterfalls. This was a ton of fun but kinda scary because you have to get used to driving on the other side of the road. One night we actually got to see some Mauy Tai, Thailand kick boxing. It is really popular here. We got to sit two rows from the front and saw 8 fights. This was neat to see in real life but also very brutal. None of the guy fights finished because one of them was always knocked out or

We safely recieved are passports back Oct 9 and that evening we took the overnight bus to Chumpon where we arrived there at 6 am and then took a boat to Koh Tao. Our first island!!!! It was soooooo cool arriving at the coast. It is absolutely beautiful here! Koh Tao is the diving island. So we shopped around to different resorts and picked one out. That day we started the PADI certification for diving. The next couple days were learning about diving in the classroom and then doing pool exercises. It was hard not to be on the beach but it is good to learn new skills. We even had homework at night. Which sucked. But we met some really nice people in

We heard about the taxi scams in Bangkok and low and behold as soon as we came off the plane there was many people trying to corall us into some sort of taxi ride. But we were smart and lined up for the public transport line. These last few days have been very fun with hiring a Tuk Tuk driver to drive us around for the last two days for not even 3 dollars and he has been driving us around in insanely crazy traffic to see lots of Wat's (temples). Again many, many buddha's, but they are all fasinating in their own way. On Monday

To get to the Summer Palace we decided to take the city bus. Which the girls working at the hostel said it was easy. Ya, it's easy when you can read which stop you are suppose to get off. Getting there was slightly confusing but being only lost once in Beijing for the week is not to bad. We were suppose to take our first bus to the terminal stop close to the zoo but (we think one stop to soon) the bus driver started kicking everyone of the bus. After walking for a bit we found a information both that told us where to go. So we
