The partial eclipse in Las Vegas came and went without much ado beneath our cloudy skies that soaked our thirsty plants. One would think that if you live in Las Vegas that you would have pretty good chance of having clear skies during a solar eclipse, but don’t bother telling any of the thousands of local school kids who had their special eclipse viewing period cancelled due to rain and clouds. Yes, the kids in Las Vegas are already in school. This is our final week in Las Vegas before we disappear for just over three weeks, hopefully missing some of our desert summertime heat, to take our final vacation of the year. Sharon’s sister Erin is in Africa on safari; but, we’re headed for Europe to embark on a three week cruise in the North Sea and Baltic around Scandinavia, Netherlands, Germany, Estonia, with day tours that will take us to Moscow and Berlin. We leave on Thursday for Amsterdam where we will be boarding the ms Koningsdam on Sunday. We’ll be spending a full day in Amsterdam and Sharon has plenty of tours to fill that day. I won’t spoil the surprise about what the final tour that Sharon chose for us in Amsterdam.
