The First Step

We've taken the first step, yes, we've actually left Longview. Today we flew from PDX to LAX and we're spending the night at the Double Tree LAX. We just had a lovely dinner at the restaurant here and are looking forward to a good night's sleep. Tomorrow we depart LAX on Quantas airlines at 8:30 pm for Aukland NZ and arrive on Tuesday morning!! It's a 12.5 hour flight but actually 21 hours of time difference because we cross the international date line. So we "loose" a day which we'll "pick up" upon our return. The Adventure has begun.

Hi Martha, I'm still sick even though I got to meet with the homegirls last night on the horsefarm and have a Halloween fire/potluck. It's daylight savings time here, so situation is normal, all fucked up. Thanks for calling before you left. Mom is full of flem and I am entirely disgusted with Big Pharma and all their damned drugs. Maybe we'll hear from you today. Or NOT. You're right, I hate being sick. Happy Trails, Shirley
