An introduction...

Let me introduce ourselves...
My name is Darrell, a 22 year old South African, God-loving, kite-surfing, Capetonian. I've been Studying a B.Sc (Hons) in genetics at Stellenbosch University for the past year and enjoying the beautiful beaches and mountains of the Cape.

Cathy is my Gorgeous (you don't have to take my word, you'll see plenty of photos) girlfriend who's grown up in Johannesburg. She has an incredible gift of compassion for everyone she meets and continually pours out her self into doing things excellently. She can be very tough to keep up with, but is always a lot of fun. We met in our final year of school and have spent wonderful holidays together and become best friends over the last few years.

Cathy and I have both just written our fianal exams. That means that within a few weeks, the two of us will both have B.Sc degrees and a world of opportunity ahead of us.

For the past few years we've been both talking about how exciting it would be to travel the world and see more than the few kilometers around our homes. Okay, so maybe it's a really big step, but the opportunity came around for us to go to South Korea to go teach English.

Why Korea? Well, the pay's good, and includes flight. But most of all, it's a place far away from all the ways of thinking and perspectives we're used to. It gives us the opportunity to see the world and work with people, before just getting stuck into finding a job.

The idea of this blog is to keep a record of our adventure and keep friends and family updated on where we are and what we're doing. It's easier and less frustrating than sending mass commuinal mails which somehow manage to make everyone feel neglected.
