This morning we got up super early and hopped on the metro to the champ de mars. We got in line ready to take a ride up the Eiffel Tower- in order to beat the queues we had about an hour wait. However as soon as it opened we were on out way. We firstly took the elevator up to the first floor which gave us amazing views across Paris. Before taking another elevator up to the summit. It was very windy up here but the views were worth it- we spent some time mapping out all the places we had been. We then raced back down to the floor level.
We were then booked to go on a sightseeing cruise around paris - so we boarded that and sailed down the seine.
After we finished here we headed up the bank to get a perfect shot of the Eiffel Tower. We then carried on and went to see the Arc de Triomphe. This is in the centre of the craziest roundabout and we were shocked there were not more crashes!!
We then took a stroll down the Champs-Élysées - stopping for the odd browse in one of the shops. We stopped off at the Grand Palais to admire it from a far before continuing to the place de la Concorde. This had a beautiful fountain and huge obselik, as well as a beautiful view up the Champs-Élysées to the Arc de Triomphe.
We then headed back to the river to admire the pont alexandre III which was beautiful. Following this we trekked on till we got to the Liberty Flame which is a replica of the one on top of the Statue of Liberty and is a unofficial memorial site to Diana as it was close to where she died.
Exhausted we headed back into town for a spot of dinner and some coffee. However after a spot of refuelling we headed back to views of the Eiffel Tower under the promise that something magical happened on the hour when it was dark. We were not disappointed and the whole Eiffel Tower twinkled with lights in the moonlight.
