La boca

A bit grumpy now as I just wrote loads on here for it all to just vanish.
Our walk to la Boca was not to be,given that this is a place you don't easily pull out a map if lost. As there was nowhere to stop and browse we turned back to San telmo only to discover we had actually made it to la Boca but 3 blocks off. Will try again before we leave.

it all panned out well in the end as we got to sit in a nice plaza, drink cold beer and watch the tango. The only hassle here is the bombardment of pigeons.

the funniest thing we've seen in a long time also crossed our paths. Not one to mock the afflicted but please, buenos aires pavements and roads are not for the faint hearted but here we are witnessing a bling guided walking tour. There must have been 50 people with seeing eye dogs and white sticks. At a guess probably 5 are now NOT in hospital.

Di I mention the gallant return of a cigarette lighter to a young German tourist after one of the dirty little child thieves stole it from her table. Amazing what my annoyed face, stern body language and some rough Spanish can do to reunite someone with what is rightfully theirs. Dirty rotten scoundrel. Mother is probably procreating elsewhere.

anyway time for dinner and vino.

Definitely a puzzling situation. I have worked with a number of blind and visually impaired individuals. One woman always wanted me to take her to "see" certain things (e.g. a parade, Christmas lights), and I finally asked her what she go
t from these events. She enjoyed the sounds and smells and getting out. That's all I can offer you with this event.
