One of the perks that Allstate provided on Saturday was a city tour and a tour of Fenway Park. Fenway Park is the oldest baseball stadium in the United States that still hosts professional baseball games. It is the home of the Boston Red Sox. We got up early walked around the area where the hotel is, and had some breakfast. Around 10 a.m. they loaded us on some buses and took us over to Fenway Park it was an amazing backstage look at the historic Stadium. Following the tour we were treated to all of the baseball food available at the stadium along with beer and sodas. Annrmarie and I dtuffed ourselves with hamburgers hot dogs and french fries. We were able to walk up to a bar and restaurant that overlooks the outfield and sit at the tables enjoying a spectacular view of the field Stadium from above. As the stadium tour ended we loaded onto trolleys for a three-hour tour of the city. While it was educational we were all ready to kill the tour guide by the end. Speaking with a very slow strong Boston accent she torturously explained the local sites. Many times over the course of the tour tourists walking down the sidewalk would try to stop the trolley and get a ride. At this point our wonderful tour guide would yell out on the PA this is a private tourrrrr. By the end people in the back were screaming to be let off. Because there were no stops along the way where we would be able to use the restroom we weren't even able to drink beer on the ride for fear of being that one person having to stop the trolley. As the tour progressed we realized we had seen most of the city on our long walk the day before. After escaping the clutches of the tour guide we headed off to Chinatown. Well this is not a large area of the city but it was very interesting to see all of the Chinese influence with the restaurants and markets. From China town we rushed back to the room to get ready for our Gala event. Every year at the DPA Gala events Allstate has a surprise entertainer for the evening. People constantly are trying to guess who the entertainment will be and it's always been tight-lipped. We had a great dinner filet mignon and halibut and then headed over to the Grand Ballroom for the surprise event. In true Allstate style it was a spectacular concert featuring Rock Legends who xame together and performed many classic songs. Who sells World Classics of Rock . Some of the highlights were the singer for Santana, as well as the lead singer of Lynyrd Skynyrd. It was a great event and we're very fortunate to have been able to attend.
