We had a sleep-in day today. As it's our last day in Kuala Lumpur and we'd done everything we wanted to and had planned to do. As usual we went to breakfast and got the normal things we get. We'd been eating for 20 minutes when a Muslim lady wearing a full sari and head-dress walked in with her husband. We had pretty much finished breaky by this stage but were going to stay to see how she ate. She walked around for agers before finally sitting down to eat. To eat she pulled up the thing covering her mouth, put her food in her mouth and back down it went. I couldn't and wouldn't ever put up with that. After 10 minutes of watching her we went to Reception and got our check-out time to 2 from 12 then went shopping.
We didn't actually buy anything but we did have fun. We walked up the street, down another then up a little way before getting to Starhill Gallery. This shopping centre was meant to be really posh and expensive. It was. There was no shops that weren't branded (Louis Vuitton, Fendi, Dior...) All the shops had double doors
and some even with locks! Almost every store had 3 or more staff for the whole 20 items they had and a security guard! One man was employed to clean the hand-rails of the travelators. The hand rails on the higher floors were made of wood and had been so polished that they were really shiny. The toilets were beautiful, I know it sounds weird, beautiful toilets but these were amazing. The toilet walls went right to the floor and roof and were made of tiles, the doors had proper handles, the kind you expect to find at the front door of a mansion, there was 5 full length mirrors, the walls were made of a really nice wood and there was even paintings inside! None of the shops had prices. I could go on. After StarHill we went to the Pavilion and had an early lunch at a restaurant called Michelangelo's.
After lunch we went back to the hotel and quickly went up to the 29th floor to see what we could see before going to our room. We got to the door and mum did the whole "it's our last time going in here" etc then took photos outside
the door. When it came to opening the door however, we couldn't. We tried the other card and stood there for probably 5 minutes trying to get in before we realized we were on the wrong floor! How embarrassing! Then we had to do it all over again only this time for OUR door. We did all the last minute jobs like emptying the safe and left.
We caught a taxi to Kuala Lumpur Sentral then the KLIA ekpress to the airport. We walked around the airport then went to a restaurant for some dinner. We went through customs and all that then brought a bottle of water. But as there were restaurants in this part we had to do all the scanning again. So we lost the water, but not the opened bottle, or the deodorant. Now I'm sitting on the plane writing this.
We had a nice dinner - chicken with roast potatoes and vegies, salmon with a salad, flummery with chocolate and raspberries, a bread roll and a pack of Ferro Rochers. I swapped mum some potatoes for one of my frerros but then ate the other to just to bug her because I know how much
she likes them. Big mistake on my behalf - they were disgusting and now I feel sick. Oh well, I guess as the say revenge is sweet.
