Trained in to the city, bought a hop-on, hop-off bus ticket and saw the sights!

Museo del Prado was a must to view the artworks. It's one of the world's 10 best museums, we read. I'm now reaching culture overdose, no more. Also saw an Egyptian temple - see pic.

Was more than a little dismayed at the rubbish in the city streets. Everywhere we went the bins had not been emptied and heaps of rubbish were stacked around. It was a distraction from an otherwise beautiful, typical European city.

Mostly paintings inside with some sculptures and court furniture. Hadn't seen any works by El Greco before, very dramatic.

Now this is one Museum I haven't been to. The Prado with Goya's Caprichios - which I studies for a whole year at Uni - AHH! Can't wait to see those, not to mention the Greek guy 'El Greco's works - very elongated and ghostly - Mannerism a
t its best - His real name was Domenicos Theotocopoulos! Great photos Robbie and Sel! I am soooo jealous!

Thx Karla. With that handle, I'd go by "El Greco" too!
