Today we move on from Rome to Tuscany, but will be back for our last week for shopping. We are well organised and have a taxi take us to the garage where our Fiat Panda is waiting. We unloaded our luggage and then walked a block further to sign the paperwork. So glad we had checked the day before to save dragging the luggage around.

At registration we are advised there is no GPS available for our car, although we have booked one. You have to be kidding me! No, apparently he's not joking. I'm starting to get a little agitated, and G is asking how are we meant to navigate out of Rome, let alone find our way to Greve in Chianti?

OK, so we will just take a map. We are fine to use a map as we did last visit. All will be OK. Unfortuntely for us, and for the car hire guy, Europcar doesn't have maps. This is getting absolutely ridiculous and oh, by the way, your car is just outside to make things easier for you! Awesome, our filthy Fiat 500 (not Panda) is outside and our luggage is a block away. I'm now wild and we don't even know how to drive back to our luggage via the one way streets. We sat in the car ranting for a while and decide the only option is to turn on roaming on my phone and upload our route to Greve, via luggage. I asked the guy at the Europcar garage about a GPS or map, but alas his reply was "No, is problemmo". Really, you think? Stupid git.

G successfully got us out of Roma and we took our 3 hour drive to Greve in Chianti. We managed to find the way to our villa without a map, after a few wrong turns and windy roads. Franco met us at Il Cascino and we moved into our 2 bedroom, 1000 year old home for the week.

After unloading we drove into town for groceries and then later dined at Gallo Nero, wonderful food and yummy vino. The trip home seemed a lot quicker, perhaps the wine helped. NOTE TO SELF: need to watch out for that hairpin bend right near the villa.

Tania forgot to mention the tree on the hairpin bend that we got 'up close and personal' with.... better if my hubby doesn't know just how close we got or he won't let me go on holiday with Tania again...

I was actually just trying to use the car headlights to look up the tree for wildlife G!

First world problems ladies! :) I want a Fiat 500! Although it looks a little big for my tastes...You two would make good secret agents. You are very good problem solvers...
