Yesterday on the wine tour we laughed at a single carriage train we saw twice, packed to the brim with passengers, seated and standing. Well turns out that was my train for today. Thankfully I had a seat on the 1.5 hour ride, packed without air conditioning. It's fun - all part of the adventure.
I arrived in Orvieto mid afternoon. It's a another gorgeous town perched on a cliff. Took a furnicular train to the top to get to town.
This is where I will meet Sue, Ginnetta (G) and Deb tomorrow. The will arrive with the car from Rome, enjoy lunch and spritz in town and then head out to our villa, Lugascello, in the countryside. I will have them for company now until my trip ends. It's gonna be a hoot!
This afternoon I ventured out for my traditional. At bar ClanDestino they force feed you free food with your drink (see photo). This is offered at most bars in Italy at happy hour and there is more than enough to fill you for dinner.
