Sometimes, it is hard to find peace.

May be, we feel life is not satisfactory.

May be, we have several desires and wants which we are not able to fulfill.

May be, we are expecting a little more from our lives.

Similar kind of situation, I was facing before my trip to Varanasi. I was torturing myself with mood swings, negative thoughts, rawness, crying, and anxiety. This is all because I was not able to decide, what should gonna be my next move in life. When I found too much on my plate, I made an escape to a place which is full of divineness and spirituality. A place where I can sit, relax and talk with myself only.

Banaras, a reverent vicinage in India, is situated at the bank of the sacred River Ganga in the state of Uttar Pradesh. The essence of positivity was completely dissolved within city. While crossing streets to reach the Ganga Ghat, I was not able to put my eyes off as the interlacing of ancient structures and the modern fabric was so fascinating. The ancient town was brimmed with the people all around. It was filled with small shops of lip-smacking delicacies. The discussions and the gossips were going on with the delighted sip of Chai at street corners. Banarasi Paan was a form of art and it was actually a real delight.

After crossing the brimmed streets, when I finally stepped at Ganga Ghat, I was mesmerized with the entire seen which was already created there. The river Ganga was made a serene setting. As the dark clouds were rolling over, the noise of the water of river Ganga, the low tides, the scintillant ghats, the Aarti were spellbound. Total of 5 Priests were performing the rituals. The sound of bongs was rejoicing and created a pleasurable arena. People were astonished on the sounds of bongs and were enjoying the Aarti. The cool breeze was flowing over the ghats sending out fragrances. It was an awe-inspiring moment which I lived at Banaras Ghat.

After attending a spiritual prayer, I further moved towards one of the significant pilgrimage in India, yup none other than, the Kashi Vishwanath Temple. A Shiva Temple which elicits a religious dignity and is occupied a prominence as one of the twelve jyotirlinga in India. It was so resplendent that one can sense the presence of Supreme Heaven on Earth. It is the perfect examplar of the assimilation of all spiritual as well as architectural desires of an architect under one roof. The sweet fragrances, coming out of the burning incenses were dissolving within my body and creating an aura of peace and piousness within me. I forgot all my worries there and finally came out with a new positivity within me. I believe, it was a perfect destination to escape.

The peace at the place created calmness within me. I went with the sham, drudgery and broken dreams but there I found that the world is still a beautiful place to live.

I feel, sometimes escape from an occupied life is healthy.

Don’t stop yourself from escaping reality

It’s how you stay alive....
