Well Andy got caught up getting some documents sorted this morning. So, after I had been out for breakfast and coffee, I decided to head off to Greenwich. A couple of trains later reached the Cutty Sark DRL station and off to see what's around.

First stop is the Greenwich markets, which are mainly a number of stalls selling street foods from various countries. From here headed to Greenwich Park and to see Queen's House. The beautiful tulip stairs are the first centrally unsupported stairs in England. Impressive architecture and artworks.

From here walked up the hill to the Royal Observatory. The prime meridian, zero degreens lontitude, runs through the courtyard of the Royal Observatory in which was founded in 1675 by King Charles II. It is well worth visiting.

Unfortunately ran out of time to do the National Maritime Museum and the Cutty Sark. I had left these to last in the hope that Andy would finish in time to meet me there. It ended up he was actually at the Observatory at the same time as me but we managed to miss each other. After a few messages we did manage to track one another down.

A drink at the Kings Arms and then to try the pies at Goddards at Greenwich. They advertised pie and mash with eels. Andy decided to give it a go, I had a chicken and ham pie. It came with mashed potato and gravy or liquor. This is a runny parsley sauce. Not somewhere I would visit again although it seemed really popular. We then went to the Coach and Horses to wash the pies and eels down. They were having a trivia quiz, just as well not participating as only knew the answer to one question as all about British TV.

Back to Bayswater and another visit to Kensington Park. There are night markets on but we didn't bother going in as it cost £15 each and then you needed to buy food etc afterwards. No food or drink allowed apart from small bag of lollies and less than 300ml water in a clear bottle. You also weren't allowed to bring in seats or pretty much anything else. There was a open air theatre running later as well.

Back to climb the stairs. My watch tells me I've done 50 stairs today and 25,500 steps. I know it is lying as I had it in my bag on the plane and walking around Dubai Airport and it didn't reset last night to zero. Does look impressive though.
