Nice trousers
I had to wear these as knees cannot be seen in the temple Right where were we
ah yes im a cripple and about to dive where there are sharks. OK.
The six of us got the boat to Ko Tao and managed to get holed up in some decent accomodation near the beach front. as usual first night in a new place was spent getting Changed up, a phrase ive grown accustomed to and may try to copyrite. we'd all decided to do some diving and the next day got it all booked. Phil and I as qualified divers would do a couple of fun dives and Keith, Gaz, Andy and Wei would do an intro course before joining us for the second fun dive.
It must also be mentioned that we again hired scooters and i was back in the saddle like i'd never been away. No accidents this time tho, probably because i went everywhere at 4mph but what the hey. on the day of the dive i got the ok from the local doc and all my wounds got the waterproof bandage treatment and i was good to go. we took the local dive boat out to a place called Mango bay where the others were deposited
Food time
The owners soon regretted their all you could eat policy in the shallow regions to go through the sfety and training drills. Phil and i kitted up and went off diving with some nutjob instructor called Marcus who, despite being Swiss , was clearly a couple of Changs short of a six pack. after forgetting his mask before jumping in he took us on a dive round the local by where we saw lots of fish, coral and various sea dwelling creatures. About halfway through Marcus suddenly halted and banked violently right and beckoned us to follow as he bolted across the sea bed. it was only after the rest of the dive and we had surfaced did we found out that we had swum into the nesting area of the triggerfish which will attack anything that encroaches into its nesting area. Marcus mentioned that he probably should have told us this info before laughing nervously and cracking open a beer. Like i said nutjob.
After a brief lunch we met up with the others and set out for our second dive. sadly Keith and Wei didnt join us due to ear problems (Keith) and a large amount of seawater ingested (Wei).
Itr was decided that the Phil and
Panchenko Junior
Some kid who challenged Phil to a game of connect four. the kid won i should act as buddys to Gaz and Andy as being the experienced divers we could assist them in any problems. so phil, who hadnt dived for a year and me who'd only done five dives in his life (four of them in the Solent for Gods sake) were in charge of the others. sounds promising.
The area we dived i turned out to have an extreme current and meant any movement was against the motion of the water. Even so the views were superb and the fish numerous and colourful. after a while both Phil and i got a nudge from our guide and i turned and saw crazy Marcus taking Gaz and Andy towards the surface. Hmm. Phil and i carried on and finished our dive and upon getting back on the boat found that because of the extreme current Gaz and Andy had used up a load of air. so much so that by the time they had done a decompression stop Gary was breathing of Marcus' air and had just 5 bar left. Close stuff indeed. in reality there was never any danger and crazy swiss handled the situation like a pro. Gary seems intent
Eurggh
Bloody Pancenko that he was close to the end but i think thats just to impress the ladies. Honestly using your own predicament to impress girls, wouldn't find me doing that.
After Ko tao we journeyed to Samui where we spent a few more days on ther beers and just chilling on the beach, the overriding memory of Samui being the fellas who would roam the streets at night with monkeys. Their tactic was to throw the monkey at you and then charge you to have a photo taken, poor little monkey had no idea and just clung to you for dear life,. Cute little buggers tho, monkeytastic. after Samui was Krabi where i hoped to dive some more but simply ran out of time. and then without warning our time in Thailand was over. with hearts saddened we all went our seperate ways, Andy and Wei back to England, Phil off to Malaysia and Gaz, Keith and i to OZ. it has to said that a cracking time had been had by all and Thailand holds many memories, all good apart from my Evel Knieval moment.
So here I am now in Sydney cafe after arriving yesterday morning. i
Whos that
Some fella should also mention that in that time i have got a new phone bank account and i start my new job on monday. some telesales job hawking insurance for a bank i think. so just remember when someone calls to send you stuff and they sound far away it might just be me. so a few months of dull employment await but the financial benefit is pretty good and it will allow me to hit Australia after Christmas with new vigour and a wad of cash.
So or the time being its good bye. i will continue to update you all with news when i have it. Hope everyone is good and i look forward to hearing from u all
