Saturday 4th February
Beautiful morning. We have an agenda today. 1. Collect hire car2. Locate Hua Hin Fishing Park, Hue Hin3. Find Tesco Lotus superstore for basic shopping. Managed all three, only one wrong turn, blaming Google maps for that one slip. Fishing day booked for Tuesday, Leo opting for the Carp and Catfish lake, the other containing huge varieties! Too big to handle. Arriving at Tesco Lotus at 2pm we realise we are hungry, so after grabbing a trolley, we head firstly to The Pizza Company as there is a food mall at the entrance. Enjoying a delicious pizza, fries and refreshing lime and lemon drinks, served beautifully on a wooden platter in those trendy jam jar glasses, with lime cordial on the side in tiny jugs, delicious. Bill came to £20 and we would go again. Our shopping experience was amazing. The fresh foods offered were eye-opening. Seafood and Fish aplenty, tropical fruits and fresh greens, such as Morning Glory, just a wonderful different experience, even if we don't have the appliances needed to whip up a shrimp stir-fry at home. Having a car means we can go anywhere/anytime/anyplace, so we unpack and head off to explore some more. Keeping to the coast we discover beautiful scenery involving limestone monoliths rising from the sea, not dissimilar to Krabi on the Andaman Coast. Here again we find fishermen walking through sea trailing drag nets for we guess young squid, the number of fisherman suggest the sea here is bountiful.Leo twists Paula's arm into stopping at stilted beach bar for a cool beer, where our only company is a pack of friendly but mangy dogs. We continue along the coast passing a group of about 50 Students who are waist high in the sea having photographs whilst gathered around a Flag, whether it's some graduation thing or religious ritual we have no idea.Keeping our promise we return to Sing's , where we order Prawns in tempura batter, Chicken Fried rice and Paula's favourite Morning Glory, all delicious, and under £20 including tip, washed down with Red wine and a beer it's back home for a roof terrace chill out listening to the Eagles (group) competing with the wildlife to produce the best music. Tomorrow is a new adventure, waiting to happen.
