Edit Blog Post
Well hello girls & guys
We've been pretty busy traveling round over the last week and haven't had a chance to update the blog so here goes.
Bangkok pretty much consists of drinking (lots) because there is just nothing else to do. Ended up booking a tour on the death railway over the River Kwai & to a Bhudist Temple where they live with the tigers. The bridge, although has a lot of history is pretty boring, they took us to an old War Museum which consists of old bikes, cars & any other old toot they could get their hands on, which they painted a Japanies flag on. No real detials of what happened. So off to the trip on the railway. There was one point where you are going round the side of a cliff with a river flowing beneth you, makes you feel a little bit uncomfortable, but after the jungle it didn't faze us. We could take down G.I Jane on speed....
We didn't have a clue that we were even going to the Temple, so was a little surprised when they asked us if we wanted to go and get some pics. There were
4 tigers loose at the back of the quey, obviously juviniles that were fighting with each other. Our only protection was 2 guys with small sticks, I really didn't see what they were going to do in a crisis. Then they sent us in 1 by 1 to sit by the tigers and have our pics done. You can see from the look on my face that I was constantly planning my escape route incase any of them moved. I had a lucky escape, once we were out of the photo area 1 of the tigers got upset and let rip at one of the guys working there. I've never heard anything like it. Enough to make me wet my pants...
Off to Singapore for 3 days and we decided to live it up for the 1 and only time on our trip, surley we deserved it after all our efforts in Thailand. So 5* hotel in Mariner Square. Liverpool football team stayed there when they went to Singapore and everything. We made a concious effort to dress up and turned up looking like the cleaning staff. We went out to an Irish bar in search of somewhere showing
Tiger Temple
It was GREEEAT as Tony Tiger would say the football, seen as kick off wasn't until 1am over here. We had no joy so the barmaid suggested some clubs that would be busy on a Wed night. List in hand we went off to Zoul, which I'll give her was busy, although not a westener in sight. We'll you've got to know your in the wrong place when the 12 year old door man asked Wade for ID, she asked how old you have to be to get in and he said 18, with a grin on his face (ass). We thought it was hillarous until we got inside and there was sick all over the floor where 17 year olds had got themselves into a right old state... didn't even stay for a drink. Ran out and pitched up in the Ministry of Sound instead. Seen as we were far to sober we got a few drinks down our necks and thought it would be a fabulous idea to dance to the 80's tunes (yes, the Ministry plays cheesey music) where Wade stacks it without even getting a foot on the dancefloor. How or why we really don't know. We were laughing so much that a random
Monk on the run
Eddie the Eagel is in hiding in Thailand... guy had to come over and help her back to her feet, sorry Wade, but it was funny.
Me and Amie went to a night safari in Sinapore which was quite cool but we weren't allowed to take any pics because the animals don't like flash photography. Did get some pics from the show that we watched from a quiet corner, only when I was looking the other way they tried to get me up on stage when they were fire eating. I tried to offer Amie up as a sacrifice but the toothless dude was having none of it. Luckily they had pulled a guy out of the crowed on the other side by then and I was spaired. They made him take his top off and everything, god knows why he thought I'd do that....
So we have now surfaced in Perth, the sun is shining but it's the first time we've been cold since leaving the UK. The wind is awful. Came back down to earth with a bump when we booked into a beach side hostel. You can bearly see through the windows but it is a view of the sea which makes it
a little bit easier to deal with. We are the only people over the age of 18 in this joint, so we just rush through the common areas. Located over a bar it's not ideal, but we're just looking at hiring a car and traveling up the coast for a while. I'll let you know if there are any more developments.
