I took the china town bus from Boston to New York and the driver was on a mission, he was overtaking everything and it only took 3 and a half hours in the end, some people i spoke to at the New York hostel said the same journey had taken them an hour more.
Took bloody ages to get to the hostel, i knew it was north of china town but it was only after i bought a map and saw i needed to trek another 103 blocks with the big ass backpack that i reluctantly parted with some cash and got a yellow cab, so i arrived tired, sweaty and not in the best mood ever.
After i'd washed i felt better, met a German guy within an hour of arriving, and also some guy who turned out to be a total f*cking freak... i spent the next 3 days avoiding him which to be fair wasn't all that hard in New York.
My first full day was spent with the german guy (max) exploring the city, sadly i hadn't charged up the camera before hand which meant i would have to go see everything again. Spent the next day searching for an internet cafe to do the Boston Blog, they are so hard to find in NYC, and so are public toilets! Once i finally found one the rest of the day was spent exploring and that was pretty much all i did, there is so much to see in NYC, every street has a cool shop or an entertainer to interest you.
Later in the week my old French buddy from Boston arrived, and i met a cool drunken English guy from Hereford, another from Manchester, 2 Canadians, 2 guys from California and a lovely Aussie lady aswell so i was never short of company or something to do.
Went and got drunk both Friday and Saturday nights - sooooooo many beautifull ladys, and all very talkative too, woke up with a new number in my phone on saturday but i didnt persue it cos her name was Dora, nuff said.
The Hostel itself was alot better than Boston, (both hostels have been Hostelling International) the room didnt smell nearly as bad and it was really clean and secure, though they still didnt allow you to take food or alcohol in, and there wasnt a decent place to
A BullA BullA Bull

This statue was just off Wall Street... what the guy on the left is trying to do is anyones guess
meet anyone except the people you shared the room with.
I slept really well too, it was quiet at night - even in a 12 bed dorm! Infact i slept better there than i have at any time in ages.
Went to the Empire State building, it cost $16 and took about an hour to que up and reach the top, but was well worth it, its a hell of a view, and from what i could tell you can stay at the top as long as you want once your there.
The Statten Island ferry is free, so decided to hop on that to get my picture of the Statue Of Liberty, had to use maximum zoom to get a decent pic but it was better than paying to use the other ferrys that went to the actual islandand i was told all there is is a museam... had enough of them in Boston, couldnt be arsed to look round Statten Island as my guide book only had about 3 lines dedicated to it and those lines didn't exactly inspire me.
Times square is something else, so many colours and so many people, but its not as big as you imagine it to be.
Was lucky to see the Columbus day parade too, never seen so many people and it was really loud and good.
Saw the NYPD training up some women in Central Park at 5am one morning, one huge cop was making them do press ups and stretches and all sorts with these huge backpacks on, and then they were off running round the park... all at 5am.

So NYC is brilliant, there is so much to see and do and i met at load of great people, except the one freak, my only wish is that i stayed closer to the sites, not 50 blocks away as it turned out!

Whore!
You have only been gone two weeks and your cheating on me already, you whore! Well with a name like Dora I am sure she was a horror!! Anyway pal, looks like your having an amazing time and meating some cool people..I bet I would have got on well with the freak! Just keep on enjoying yourself, I can almost picture the horror on your face when you realised how far away the hostel was and that you would have to PAY for a taxi. I have to admit your blogs are the most exciting thing in my life at the minute, and defiantely better than Emmerdale! I eagerly await the next installment!
