Got some mysterious illness now and İ'm just hanging round the hostel trying to recover. İt's probably a throat infection but İ also ache all over and have a fever and shivering and sweating. The people at this hostel have been really good looking after me. İ'm going to stay here until İ fly back on Tuesday >> there's still loads to see and do here in İstanbul and now İ'm back on my own İ can do the things İ want to.
İ recommend this hostel >> Bahaus Hostel to anyone visiting İstanbul, there's a great sense of community here harking back to the sixties when this area was part of the trail to the East and İndia. The upper area has a bar and above that is a large roof terrace with views out to the river/sea and behind the minarets of the two larger mosques.
One thing İ need to do is visit the Turkish baths for the extreme body massage and feeling of elation after. There's also the large palace wıth the Harem where 300 women entertained the sultan >> although he only had 4 wıves at once (chosen by his mother).
Last night İ felt so bad that İ wanted to change my flight to come back to England but there is nothing to come back to.

Topkapi is well worth a visit; so is Aya Sofia. And have you tried 'sahlip' hot milk or ice cream? Hope you feel more up to it soon, and how about making a plan for when you come back - there's a campaign to save the Tinsley cooling towers, and the docfest is at the end of the month ...
