Most days while on the island of Kri we followed the same routine, breakfast , snorkel, shower, walk along the jetty, lunch, laze on the beach, more snorkelling, shower , dinner ..... You get the idea.

There was a boat trip planned for Friday to visit the Fam islands and viewpoint from where you get the view that everyone associates with Raja Ampat.

The day started grey and cloudy as we jumped on the boat at 7.30am, a bit of a disappointment as we'd hoped to get the perfect picture also the snorkelling isn't so good with a cloudy sky.

Soon after setting off one of the boat's engines failed so we limped along on the other while an attempt was made to fix it. Finally we were off but then the first engine broke down. After some struggling we were back with two engines and were on our way!

Luckily for us as by the time we were dropping into the sea at the first snorkel spot the sun was peeping out and by the time we arrived at the view point 90 minutes later the sky was completely blue.

We all dragged up the 300 or so steps to the viewpoint. As each person stepped onto the viewing platform they uttered the same sound " wow!". The view was breathtaking.
After ages taking numerous photos we set off down for a boat ride to Melissa's garden, a popular snorkel spot although to be honest I still think the reef near our homestay was better.

The next stop was a deserted beach for lunch followed by a stop on the island of Arborek. There was a shop on the island and we actually were able to buy 3 in 1 nescafes and biscuits. A luxury let me tell you!!!

We returned to our island by 5.30 just in time to shower for dinner. Rice and fish heads!! Lovely!

On Monday our Italian friends were leaving and we decided to leave too, after 12 days of rice, rice and more rice we needed to find some nourishment. Added to this the weather was becoming increasingly unsettled. Rain would pour down for an hour or so and we'd be trapped in the bungalow. One day we'd been out snorkelling, the sea was lovely and warm but the rain came suddenly and as we swam back it felt strange to have cold rain drops hitting our backs. Snorkelling in the rain is not good as everything looks dark.

We said our goodbyes and took the boat back to Waigo in search of... I don't know what!
