G'day mate! How ya goin? I have never experienced so many different emotions all at the same time. I am incredibly nervous, excited, sad, happy, thankful, worried, anxious, calm, grounded, scared, curious, ecstatic...the list goes on and on. After five months of living in Melbourne it is finally time for me to be on my way. If Melbourne were closer to home, I would very much consider moving. In the past months I have found my home away from home, thanks to all of my beautiful friends and family at the Nunnery. I worked at the coolest place in town...a spanish Chocolateria called San Churro. I had the pleasure of watching peoples faces light up when I brought them their heavenly chocolate. My friends at the shop were absolutely fantastic...I knew that from the time I stepped foot in the door, I was guaranteed to walk out with my cheeks hurting so much from smiling and laughing for 8 hours. I know I have been backpacking in Australia for too long because...
*I have incorporated words such as-'mate, cheers, good on ya, g'day, how ya goin, bugga, cuppa, no worries, and ta,' into my vocabulary without thinking twice.
*An eight hour trip to go camping for the weekend isn't out of the question, or excessive.
*I get way too excited at sporting events (footy, rugby, ozzie rules...) when the crowd starts to chant "Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, Oi Oi Oi!" when anyone starts singing 'Waltzing Matilda.'
*BBQ's (or sausage sizzles) are a national pastime.
*Breakfast often includes spreading the famous for its awful taste, Vegemite on my toast.
*When there is no BYO at a restaurant, I'd prefer to go somewhere else.
*I automatically look right then left when crossing the street.
*At night, I look up at the sky and find the Southern Cross.
Anyway, I have put up some more pictures in a gallery. If you would like to view them just click on Gallery at the top of the page under Melbourne. Hope you are all happy & healthy. Don't be strangers, keep in touch!
