Andy is spending his last night on the trail at the Lone Tree campsite after a 17-mile push in wet weather. He encountered stretches of clear-cut land just at the times the skies produced rain showers, enhanced by gusty winds. Many of the campsites on the trail are literally ON the trail, including Lone Tree, and this one has the added feature of signs of 4-wheeler activity. But Andy figures 17 miles are enough for one day. That leaves just 16 more before his feet take him back to his home sweet home. He's undaunted but ready to shed those hiking boots.

What an accomplishment, and what a great start to retirement. Stay tuned for more details as Andy takes to the keyboard again and reflects on his odyssey.
