Jo says...
Delayed already. Shawne is sick...and he NEVER gets sick. The creeping crud has tightened a noose around him. Fighting off this cold (I suspect it may be bronchitis, strep throat, allergies, or a combination thereof...) has delayed our departure. Poor guy. I've never seen him sick before, so seeing him prone and miserable is painful even for me.
Yesterday, we drove to Reno to return a pair of sandals to Sportsman's Warehouse. To kill two birds with one stone, we packed the car with a load to take to storage on the way. Once we got to Reno, we discovered the shoes were not in the car, and (you guessed it) we laughingly realized that we had carefully packed them away in the storage unit. Well, maybe in the next few days we'll get back up there.
The cup is half-full, though, and we strongly believe everything happens for a reason. It would have been a terrible thing had we departed on time and spent the first few days holed up in a tent on the eastern edge of San Diego County. I'm glad we're still at home where I can cook him some soup, serve him a cocktail of over-the-counter remedies, and a smidge of ice cream to wash it all down.
We've decided to again attempt departure to San Diego within the next few days. We'll keep you all posted.
Send your thoughts to the sickie.

Poor Baby!
Shawne, take advantage of the whole thing! Nurture/ not nature will help you feel better! Take care!
