All good things come to an end. This was our last night with Dave and Claire.

After a much needed afternoon sleep to recover from the rigors of the bus ride back from Lares, we showered and Dave and Claire cracked open the wine. It greatly helped to ward off the cold.

First we went down to the Plaza to take night-time photos before calling in the Norton Bar. Peru and Chile were playing that night so the bar was packed as the match was being shown on TV there. As most of you will know South Americans love their football and were transfixed watching it with the crowd jumping up at the mere sign a goal might be scored. I found it fascinating to watch the audience rather than the match. At half time we left and found a restaurant to enjoy our last meal together. Then Stan and Dave found their way to another bar to finish the night off. Claire and I admitted defeat and retired to bed after what had been a very hectic few days.

A big thanks to Dave and Claire for opening their home to us and taking us to places we never would have found on our own. It was great spending time with you. We must catch up again sometime, somewhere in this big wide world!

Next morning at 11.30am we were winging our way to Lima where we were to get our flight home. We spent a short time there but after spending time high in the mountains Lima didn't impress us at all.

After a two hour delay, due to a French Air Traffic Controller strike, we were on our way home. We arrived in Paris twelve hours later and caught our connection to Manchester by the skin of our teeth.

And that's it!! Now it's time to get back to normal and begin to plan our next adventure.

I will also go back as soon as I can to the beginning and add photos to the blogs I posted as we travelled. Watch out for the e mail alert.
