Matt after training It's 20.45 on the 4th night night we have had here in NYC. This post probably won't be quite as long as the last ones as we haven't done quite as many noteworthy things. In the same way, I don't think I will be posting 40 photos like I did with the previous post. Today started as per usual - breakfast, training, shower, then off we went towards Manhattan Bridge. Almost as soon as we'd left the apartment we realised that the clement weather yesterday, combined with a lack of wifi for weather forecasts, had lulled us into a false sense of security in terms of the temperature. In the sun it was still pretty mild, but in the shade and with a strong, biting wind we were soon wishing we'd brought coats instead of jumpers.
Once in Manhattan we made our way to Broadway to begin a day of shopping. This didn't last all that long as Kate, Matt and I all suddenly and simultaneously suffered the effects of caffeine deficiency (a phenomena that was unknown to Rosie who therefore thought we were all just irritable and sluggish for no good reason) so we hotfooted it to the nearest Starbucks.

My incredible sandwich After 2 quad grande americanos I was feeling much more ready for clothes shopping - and so the rest of the day was spent visiting the high street shops and eating street food. Actually, in culinary terms the day was a marked success. I had a Chicken Gyro from a street vendor, a huge avocado and chicken sandwich from an upmarket coffee shop and a $1.50 chow mien from a small man on the streets of Chinatown - all of which we delicious.
After we were all shopped out it was homeward bound in the rapidly approaching dusk and cold. It's funny how quickly routines are formed - this evening back at the apartment has been much the same as the last three. Just a chance to sit and chat about the day, eat food and catch up with family and friends via social media. Tomorrow we are catching the metro to Midtown for a day of sightseeing - so I'm sure many photos await to be uploaded tomorrow night!
