RiverRiverRiver

This river ran from Lake Louise. It was one if the only unfrozen waterways we saw.
We are having a relaxing day today enjoying a change of pace. Our hotel is only a 5 minute walk from the Chateau, so we headed down for a look at both the chateau and lake during day time. Again the view was incredible as the lake lays at the base where two mountains meet. After Ryan slipped down the small slope onto the frozen lake we went for a walk and took in all its beauty. It was very busy with tourist enjoying the scenery and skating rink on the ice. In the middle of the skating rink there is an ice sculpture of a castle which includes a throne for the king. After having a search around there, in the minus 15 degree weather, quite warm for this time of year we headed inside for some lunch. We were lucky to get there as the restaurant opened and to get our own seat next to a giant bay window. We could have sat there all day and marvelled at our own personal view. Here we had a nice lunch and Theresa enjoyed some coffee and Ryan some rum and coke. At the lake many people walked their dogs, some even with dog mittens. Again, the motel was dog friendly as we saw waking back out the hotel foyer. We laughed at the thought of having Tilly there and how she would behave in that environment. We spent the afternoon by heading into see Ash and organising a final catch-up for the night, as we could not do it using technology due to phone lines being cut. We stopped in at her work, had a coffee and hot chocolate while marvelling at the fact we managed to get to the bottom of the hill by skiing, not that we did it well which is proven by the numerous bruises. We then headed back to our motel to do some washing and pack, ready to leave the following day. Not everything is rest and relaxation on holidays. After work Ash dropped out to see us and have a final cocktail with Theresa. We had gnocchi for dinner which Theresa rated very highly but still said it needs improvement to be like her Nan P's. As we head for bed we are hopefully ready for our journey tomorrow which will see us land in the US of A and spend our night in San Fransisco before our top deck tour starts.
