The Itinerary

Our itinerary is pretty much set in stone. Everything has been booked and it looks like this:

20th December- leave Brisbane for Vancouver via Souel at 8.20am local time (9.20am for those playing in NSW & Vic). We arrive on the same day at 11.20am local time after about 21 hours travel. While in Vancouver we are staying at the Fairmont Vancouver

21st December- whole day looking around Vancouver

22nd December- second whole day looking around Vancouver. We have nothing booked while in Vancouver, going to get advice when we get there as to what is best to do. Most likely we will have a look around the beautiful parks that are there and head to Canada Place which is their equivalent of our Opera House but not as nice.

23rd December- we make our way to Banff for a night. We fly into Calgary and get a transfer and head head straight to Banff. We are only in Banff for a night.

24th December- we leave Banff and go to Lake Louise for Christmas. Here we are meeting up with Theresa's cousin Ash and her partner who are working there. Our first two nights we are staying with them at the Ski resort they work at (not the Cheatue Lake Louise unfortunately)

25th December- a white Christmas with Ash and Richie. They might be working so we could be skiing all day.

26th December- our two night with Ash and Richie are up and we have two nights at the Deer Lodge Lake Louise. Depending on our skiing skills we will decide what we are doing then. The average temp in Lake Louise this time of year is -20 to -7.

27th December- our last whole day in Lake Louise.

28th December- this is going to be a gruelling travel day. We have about a 2 hour shuttle ride to Calgary airport where we leave at 4.15pm local time. We fly to Vancouver where we leave for San Francisco. We are due to land in SF at 9pm local time and then will have to go through customs. Hopefully Theresa doesn't try to smuggle some left over Xmas pudding into the USA. We are only in SF one night this first stop as it's where our Topdeck tour starts.

29th December- we start our week long Topdeck tour today. It departs from where we are staying at about 8.30am which will be a struggle after the previous days travel. We do a walk over on the Golden Gate Bridge before heading on the 3-4 hour trip to Yosimite NP. We are staying at a place called Mariposa.

30th December- free day touring Yosimite NP. There are walking tracks scattered everywhere through the NP which we can trek through.

31st December- we leave Mariposa/Yosimite NP and head to Las Vegas for New Years Eve. It is a long 7-8 hour trip through Death Valley but when we get there I'm sure we will make up for it. We are staying at Bally's Casino (opposite The Bellagio). Ryan has some friends from uni and one from Lismore who will be there to see in the New Year with. Or we could get lost in all the neon lights and have no chance of finding them.

1st January - New Years Day and we have the whole day in LV. Hopefully we are feeling good enough to have a good look around some of the casinos and not lose too much money.
