Yesterday was a bit of sightseeing. We got a bus pass that follows a certain route and you can get on and off whenever you like. We went to the famous cathedral here. I'm going to call it the famous cathedral because i keep forgetting the name of it. It's something something, blah blah familia. It's a work in progress by the architect Gaudi (who died in 1925). He's got a few famous buildings around. I took the lift up to a higher level and then walked down about 250 stairs to the bottom. It was pretty steep, but had good views.
We also visited the highest point in Barcelona and took some photos of the whole city. A quick stop off at FC Barcelona's home stadium (not that impressive, didn't even have a big sign saying what it was) which is the biggest soccer stadium in Europe.
The three of us went to an organised Tapa's night through the hostel, and visited a restaurant for Tapas (pretty much a variety of different foods on bread) and the local Spanish drink (i keep forgetting all the names of stuff herre, can you tell?) which is a combination of red wine, something else and lemon. It was quitenice. We met up with a New Zealand girl, and our table kept ordering extra drinks (keeping the Australasian tradition alive). We then went on to a Flamenco dancing show which was really cool (apart from the dancer being a bloke). The next stop on the nigh was to an Irish pub (why they included that, i don't know). We had a heap more to drink, and the group moved on. We walked for a bit before we realised we'd lost the group due to hanging around for one more quick drink.
Instead of heading back to the hostel, we went on to another bar to finish the night off with some more beers. Got back at about 3.30am and crashed.
Today, we'll take in more sights and maybe head out for more Tapa's somewhere.
