Day-2 Drymen to Rowardennan

After a wild Saturday night in the Clachan Bar, Team Happy Feet got tucked up for a well earned rest at 9pm. Well Jenny was out for the count after informing us she could sleep on the edge of a needle. The rest of us tried to party around her but eventually felt guilty so went to bed at 9.30pm.

So day 2 began with lovely breakfast at the Braeside B and B and a lovely story about Bunty, GOOD MORNING BUNTY!

Princess was missing her mummy so much an emergency call was made and as if by magic when we went to set off at 9am there she was! Wee Granny Annie had came to join us for the next leg of our adventures! The day was filled with songs by Bridget and her Happy Feet backing singers. With Conic Hill in our sights we all took a deep breath and began the accent but hold on what was this….a set of stairs cue a special performance see attached video.

Yorkie had a bit of the jitters as the final hike to the top

involved a scary single footed path with a precarious vertical drop….wee Lamb Chop was there to lend a hoof!!!To celebrate their arrival at the top Team Happy Feet did a rendition of the Conga much to the delight of fellow hikers who were partaking in the spectacular views at the top ( see attached video)

After a scary decent down we were rewarded with a delicious lunch at the Beech Tree Inn in Balmaha.

We were on the move again- not too long, just around this corner…apparently – 5 hills and countless corners later and, nope – still no sign of the hotel. Again, we weren't short of shrubs, ferns and weeds to admire in the way – Loch Lomond was beautiful – if only we could see it! Around 14 miles in Yvette pipe up with “whose idea was this?”

“ I don't know but I'll f***ing kill them when I find out!” Was Alan's reply. Getting delirious, alan and kirsty were now running down the hills shouting wheeee will Yvette struggled to get down due to her laughing at Alan's previous rant While trying to

avoid having to use the pee pee poncho. It must be noted that today was rather windy. Although it is also worth pointing out that the source of this wind was not due to atmospheric pressure but I fact Bridget's bum. Yorkie also had a skid and I don't mean she slid on the ground! Yorkie is no more – skids has now joined us! We also got the chance to test the midgey nets but realised that no food or drink can be consumed without first lifting them back off.

After 16 miles and more corners, the oasis that is the rowerdennan hotel. We checked in and immediately soaked our feet in buckets of cold water. Alan however did not realise his bucket had a crack and his leaked all over the bedroom floor. The cava was cracked open to celebrate yet another big achievement! Just had dinner and preparing for yet more adventures tomorrow.

UPDATE ON THE HAPPY FEET:

Bridget: swollen ankle and trauma doll being eaten like candy

Skids: blisters and nappy rash

Princess: blisters on toes

Wee lamb: earache ( well I am with
