A four day break in Victoria on the picturesque Vancouver Island. We even have a double room, although the room is only slightly bigger than a double bed somebody has still seen fit to cram a fridge in the corner?. The hostel is good too with its own bar and has a lively international feel to the place.
Victoria is very pretty and reminds us a bit of York, but only a bit. There is a very nice bay area that’s surrounded by "old" buildings i.e. the Parliament and the Empress Hotel. There are also lots of buskers and street theatre performing around the centre.
Besides this its quite a quiet place really not a massive city, which is a good thing, people say its meant to be a lot like England I suppose that could be true.
We haven't really done much as have been recharging our batteries after pegging it round America. Mostly been walking around or sat in parks reading, not very exciting but that seems to be the pace in Victoria.
