Vancouver Harbour
A mooring here will cost you $500 000. Vancouver, well for the past few days it has been really cloudy and drizzeld rain. I guess it reminds us of home a bit! The weather has not put us off though and we have been out and about visiting the sights. On the rare occassions when the Sun comes out its actually quite warm, but this hasn't happened too often. We can't complain about a few days rain in six weeks that would be wrong.
We took a ferry across the water to Granville Island where they have a market with fresh food and stalls. We went for a bod abound one of vancouvers many parks and checked out views of the pacific and the harbour. They also have a microbrewery which brews up such things as maple cream ale and honey lager.
(Friday) we went on a walking tour of a rainforest, public library, suspension bridge and Salmon hatchery with a guide called Eric from Copenhagen. Trust us, this was much less bizarre than it sounds.
(Saturday) sunshine at last so we ventured to Stanley Park on of the worlds biggest urban parks. Its a penninsula north of the city that juts out into the Pacific
Seagull
We feel for the starfish so the views are amazing. You can walk right round it (6 miles) and there is a heated swimming pool which you need coz the seas freezing. It is really really beautiful and it's swung it for us, Vancouver is one of the best places we have been to and would be a great place to live.
(Sunday) still sunny, went back to Stanley Park and stumbled upon a Hare Krishna festival. Participated on the path to spiritual enlightenment and the free food and drink!.
