Last weekend, I stayed with Jamie and had a good time. We were both too pooped to do anything on friday night, but Sunday we planned brunch... which slowly got pushed back before we ordered lunch takeout. Then we went to Biddibundi on the Palm for their weekend special - 3 beers and a dinner for 99 AED. Yum! It's this Australian restaurant (cute boys) with rugby playing (hot guys) and good food (fat, salty, yummy). I got fish and chips, which was delicious, and enjoyed some cold beer.
Afterwards, we got the munchies, so walked to a cupcake store and I got two cupcakes - chocolate "smarty pants" and carrot cake - yummy, but very very very sugary. A little too much actually, but I ate them. Of course, you regret it in the morning.. The next day we went to see The Colony at Mall of the Emirates - not good. Then I flew home.
Exciting life I lead huh?
Then it was back to work. And boy, what a doozy of a week!! I have a feeling this will be my life for the next few months. I was trying finish reports so I could

my new specialty - red chillies make it fantastic focus on my Engineering Plan (for when I become manager = raise). Instead, I had two new employees I had to get started, meetings at various locations every single day, sometimes twice per day, recruitment, HR issues with the new people, and excellent production from all of our projects - meaning that we are woefully behind in logging, core photos, and lab schedules! And I still didn't get my big report out... It's very exciting, but I'm just completely exhausted.
Friday, my one day off, I spent the day scrubbing my house down. I am tired of coming home to clutter and filth, so I got about halfway through my list of chores, which included making meals for the upcoming week so I don't have to cook when I get home everyday. It's exhausting. But very exciting!
Today (Saturday) I went to register for weekly Arabic classes with my coworker's wife. It takes place at a nearby Islamic centre and is just for women, so I think I will enjoy the class. We're supposed to wear abayas because it is an islamic centre, but since it's all women, once we are in class the pressure to keep our
head scarves on is gone. I think we officially start next week so ... here we go! Why I signed up for more work, I don't know, but I've been wanting to continue my arabic studies since my first class that I had to leave last year... We'll see...
And, that was my week in a nutshell. Work work work, get home around 7:30, eat grilled cheese, fall asleep at 9pm, wake up at 3am (because I only sleep 6 hours a night), watch a documentary, go back to bed at 5:20, wake up at 6:15 and go to work grouchy for the another insane day...

Sweet!
Pun intended! Sounds like a fun-gluttonous time! You deserve it with all the hard work you have ahead of you. Have fun being the boss for a bit! I'm sure you'll impress. :)
